The M5 review wasn’t a patch on your one either.ShockDiamonds wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:45 pm I've seen up to and including the pickups and think the series thus far is utter crap.
Not seen any of the new TGs as yet - don't see many comments on here either. Will probably watch those I've recorded thus far (think there's two) tomorrow night.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Well that was fairly amusing, even if the wanton destruction made up for the previous episode.

The Jim Clark piece was excellent, definitely the highlight so far.Zonda_ wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 8:35 pmI've found this series to be very entertaining and far less forced than previously. Top Gear in comparison just seem to be desperately trying to be them.ShockDiamonds wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:45 pm I've seen up to and including the pickups and think the series thus far is utter crap.

I think perhaps this isn’t the show for you. As Jeremy has said many time, TGT is about old men cocking about and falling over whilst a caravan is on fire in the back groundShockDiamonds wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 11:19 pm

A great season, I thought, especially the RV episode
I’m glad they’ve axed the tent going forwards, it was feeling unnecessary. I guess that also means the lap times will have gone too, which is a good thing too in my opinion, considering they only added a couple of cars each year and they were all so different

It should be possible to make something like that (and I’d still watch it) without the cringe factor most of these TGTs seem to be burdened with.Richard wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:54 amI think perhaps this isn’t the show for you. This weeks TGT was shit again.

Those dirt buggies on that course looked immense, as for that Grand Cherokee

I hope you didn't watch it.
This series doesn't feel like anything new but it's far more enjoyable to watch than Top Gear.

Re: Grand Tour Series 3
I’ve liked half of the episodes - but the Columbia double and this last one were crap. Too much bad acting and HILARIOUS accidents.
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
Have you watched the Sri Lanka episode of TG? To those complaints you can add: forced camaraderie.
I don't really understand how you can like any of TGT's episodes if you seemingly don't like the presenters and the format

I've mentioned it in the Top Gear thread, but the faux stupidity they're using to force the camaraderie is really starting to grate. They've created a Chris Harris "character" that's just annoying because you know he's better than that, as is Joey. It's a further erosion of listening to experts, we know have to make them appear to be a bit stupid so people will listen to them.Jobbo wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 10:20 am Have you watched the Sri Lanka episode of TG? where have I said I don’t like the presenters and the format? I dislike the acting and the overly scripted silliness because they are better than that.Jobbo wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 10:20 am Have you watched the Sri Lanka episode of TG? To those complaints you can add: forced camaraderie.

I do admit that I think the show goes massively downhill the further they stray from actual car content.
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
I enjoyed the latest episode much more than I expected. Those buggies look so much fun.

Yep I also enjoyed the last one. For all it is obviously staged it felt less forced than the Colombia one for example. Plus, demolition derby - can’t resist a bit of mindless destruction.
Re: Grand Tour Series 3
I've enjoyed watching this series. My young lad has also enjoyed it even though he's not overly bothered about cars. It's definitely well into last of the summer wine territory but that's where its strength lies.
He's not bothered about Top Gear.

Re: Grand Tour Series 3
You idiot. You're supposed to watch it on your own whilst your wife is in the sewing or laundry room, as it's a factual, topical motoring show where they test & review the latest and greatest cars. It's not, nor will it ever be, a light entertainment show to be watched with the family.evostick wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 9:02 am I've enjoyed watching this series.
