The Watches Thread
Re: The Watches Thread
While I don't like that dial, it seems bonkers that Rolex would replace a dial with a different one when servicing. Surely they should only ever replace the dial with a new identical one?
Re: The Watches Thread
Agreed. I would be livvid if I sent back something I liked, and got back an "improvement" that I didn't.
Which wouldn't be the case with that ugly b4stard 3,6,9 thing, but - in principle.

Re: The Watches Thread
You are assuming that they didn't ask. They may well have asked their dealer network to tell customers that they'd do this for free as a nice gesture and everyone simply said "yes, please upgrade my watch to look like the brand new better looking models".
The article just said Rolex "may have replaced" it when serviced so its not definitely asserted that they did so without asking.

Re: The Watches Thread
I think you get any removed parts returned, perhaps it was different back then.

Did Beany take those photos?
Re: The Watches Thread
Rolex makes lovely watches but are wankers when it comes to servicing. They don't listen to your requests, they'll do what they want.

Some people are so ungrateful I had to hire in a model at a huge outlay, then alter the time so they were all wrong, charge my phone to take a few random snaps and then upload them for your delectation

Re: The Watches Thread
If I ever wear a watch it's most likely a swatch. I'd have to think something was really nice to consider spending even £100.davecG60 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 6:12 pm Does nobody on here have cheap watches? The most I've spent is £300 and that was with Mr Tesco and his tokens
I still would love a pricey watch but love the cheap stuff too.
I'll post some pix up of the SO EXCITING collection when I've finished this assignment

Re: The Watches Thread
I now have one fewer watch, thanks to the For Sells thread I posted here. I loved my Black Bay but I didn't wear it so I'm turning it into wine.
Re: The Watches Thread
You mean someone from the forum actually bought something posted in a for sale thread? Unbelievable
By wine I assume you mean for your wedding, rather than as an investment!

Re: The Watches Thread
In fact Jobbo is like a slightly harder Jesus, who allegedly was only able to turn water into wine. Turning a watch into wine is far more impressive, if somewhat more costly.

I think given the pretty limited audience for sale threads on here do pretty well. I've bought two cars off forum members!

Re: The Watches Thread
Yes, mine too, but it doesn't seem to garner me any followers no matter how earnestly I prove it to them.

I imagine the water passed will be unpalatable, but ultimately I'm achieving the same thing. In quantity.
