My bet, now that it's being discussed openly in the press, is that we won't leave on 29/3. Realistically I don't see a deal being passed in that time, as I don't see any way to make May's deal palatable to MPs without a large change in Brexit direct.

No-one wants a No-deal, despite May leaving it 'on the table' (it is of course the default action if nothing else changes).

Just say 'sod it' and go EFTA+EU customs union and minimise the damage.

What do they need to do to get the second ref? Does it need passed by parilment or can they decide to do it on their own?

I used to be of the opinion that the outcome of the second ref should be honoured, but the more this goes on and the worse it gets putting it back to the public seems the only thing to do now.

It’s not a straight forward “we want a second referendum”, they need to get enough backing to table the motion and then to actually vote it through. Once that’s done they’ll need at least 22 weeks (based on the last study) to get a referendum set up and get to vote day. Where are we now, 1st March at the end of the week so if a second referendum goes ahead it’ll be the autumn before we get the result.

Best thing is for May to ask for an extension, Europe says yes provided it’s an extension to 2021 (as per recent reports) and
Labour table their motion for a second referendum in parallel thus presenting the quickest and easiest option out this mess to try and coax enough people to vote for remain.

I don’t think labour have got it in them to not fuck this up though.
