TMF (The Missenden Flyer) does more sober reviews but he tries to get interesting bikes at least. He takes some getting used to, and his riding is nothing to shout about.

Richy Vida is worth a watch for his touring series, mostly for the scenery and quality of production, he makes a real effort there. His bike won't interest you much though

Bike World is the YouTube channel side of the TV show, but in smaller bite size chunks - they'll be at the same test events as MCN but often give a different angle to the bikes, and are a little more relaxed on camera

I'm largely in agreement, he's really hard work at times and sticks rigidly to his formula like old Top Gear, I'm just trying to give a spread of options really.

A few vloggers did a meet up trip recently, with Richy, Teapotone, Lambchops, TMF, Shaaf and TWAAP (she's a decent rider actually) and he's soo annoying in that

Whaat, you mean you've seen through her desperate attempts to show her ass and dominate all camera time. I am shock.

Indeed, I don't watch her channel other than the occasional perve, but she does ride pretty well at least.

Shaaf is interesting for the occasional drop in, his RAW vids are a nice relief when its miserable outside and I want a bike fix.

As you can tell from the rest of my recommendations though, I'd rather watch the adventures than bike reviews as most reviewers are too busy trying to keep manufacturers happy so their channel keeps getting invited to the free gigs, rather than actually give an honest appraisal. Same old.

Oh exactly, same here. Tbh I don't care about the bike reviews unless it's something unicorny like a V4R - I already own bikes I like.

It took me years of youthful chasing speed and power to realise that I actually just enjoy riding in the countryside, the actual bike doesn't really matter. I rode round all day yesterday on the old Fazer, didn't go fast, just loving the Cheshire views and fresh air. Doing the same in a few minutes, heading to my usual Welsh café stop. It's all about getting out there, don't worry about the bike itself.

Agree as ever mate, I look forward to using the Tenere to get to and from work just as much as I enjoy taking the BMW for a blat - well, OK, nearly as much. I always thought the bike reviews are only really for people who haven't got a bike yet tbh.

Got a 1k km trip planned on the BMW next weekend, very much looking forward to it now the lowered pegs mean I'm not in constant discomfort on it. Why did I put up with it for so long?!

My mate at work just got an H2 SX - it’s got a bloody supercharger! Some of the electrical kit it has is bonkers - lean sensors, TC, etc....He did a “NotoriousRev” on it and used all his run in mileage in a weekend then is now waiting for his service date to come up!

Just watched his S1000RR review on the youchoobs. Dear god imagine being stuck in a lift with that guy

A lot of the high end bikes are coming with decent rider aids these days, IMU, fancy cornering ABS, various fuel maps/rider modes, adjustable TCS etc. Even my budget Yamaha has three stage TCS and three fuel maps (same power just throttle response changes).

H2SX is a bit of a weapon but I've seen a few vids where the older brother ZZR1400 gives it a run for its money, good old fashioned cubes vs forced induction.

Yeah, I’ve got cornering ABS, 3 stage cornering lights, TC, semi-active suspension with Comfort, Sport and Race modes, 3 stage engine modes (Rain, Street and Sport). I normally have the engine set to Sport (it’s actually a more linear throttle response than Street which exaggerates the mid-range) and the suspension set on Sport as Comfort is too wallowy.

Indeed. Left mine on STD and rarely change it (A if I know I have some good twisties coming up, but I'll switch back to STD quickly afterwards). B is pointless, STD is fine in the wet.
