with work and weather I had a crack at the nuts on the Volvo, 4 were from a Nissan so the wrong size and the rest were chrome plated so swollen and I cannot get a brace or a bit on, even with a hammer.
20 new blts ordered on eBay and I guess get a mobile fitter to take the old nuts off before I can even start on the top mount. Balls!

Have you tried some penetrating lube or warming them up first before you go in hard?

Re: Swollen Nuts
i’m guilty of this at times - can’t work out a problem so end up going to the fridge and eating instead.
I think you’re taking it a bit far though - no one can eat 20 blts unless they’re freakishly small blts.

I was following in the finest traditions of many threads covering the same topic. See the 7865 "FTAO attention of JL" threads and also "spotted"JLv3.0 wrote: Sun Apr 29, 2018 10:15 am Also make sure you post any future updates in a new thread, please.
Re: Swollen Nuts
I know JL wanted me to start a new thread on each update on this but I like to go wild and rebel at least once every 12 months.
Got the nuts replaced, got the top mount off but the bottom bolt holding the bottom of the shocker is immovable. I don't think a hairdryer on high will cut it on the drive so Am going to have to limp to a mates garage and hope her can get it out easily.
On the plus side, the newer Saab should be all ready next week.
