Is there any realistic scenario now where the UK can actually Remain in the EU ? What would the mechanisms be for that to happen (if at all)

I guess they can arbitrarily withdraw Article 50 and all the palaver goes away, but going against what the people voted for in the referendum. Or have another referendum and hope the answer is remain this time, or we all go round again.

We all know that if it had been made clear to all the voters that Brexit did not mean "no more foreigners", there probably wouldn't have been a referendum in the first place and if there was Remain would have won.

It's probably good that we're going to spend the next few weeks arguing about whether or not we should have a general election while our economy and international standing burns down around us right?

What I'd like to see is May (or whoever) categorically say that if the choice is between leaving without a deal or not leaving then we're not leaving. I'd rather see us beg the EU for an extension than go out with nothing in place.

We've been speaking to Royal Mail, UPS and the import handling company we work with over the last couple of weeks and no one has the slightest idea what's going to happen at the borders yet.

Remaining would require both a vote in Parliament and a vote in the Lords - and something else would also be needed for those votes to go against the outcome of the 2016 referendum. Which would inevitably have to be another referendum; the MPs would not go against the wishes of the people without a mandate to do so.

Extending the date of leaving still requires a vote too, but the difference is that the MPs won't be constrained by the referendum result when voting, so is much more likely to pass the houses.

I must’ve misremembered my MP numbers. The point is, everyone expected to vote No did so, so it wasn’t really close. Had there been some rebels, you could call it close.

Corbyn's royally fucked this. The labour party don't have a Brexit policy other than 'object to everything the Tories do'. Under ANY other leader right now theyd be pushing for a second vote, or EFTA, or whatever, just ANYTHING more than 'object object object'.
