The place I work for has gone from a couple working out of their back room to one of the biggest companies of it's kind in 6 years. A lot of that growth is thanks to good use of social media and viral marketing.

I think that we're all agreed that profit is the best way to decide if a business is successful or not, and that should be the primary aim of most businesses.

It's the social media bit I'm confused about. At first I thought it was a rant about people on social media pretending to be business gurus and giving out dodgy advice, but then it seemed to become more of a "social media is useless as a marketing tool" rant.
