Shall we have a 'decent lease deals' thread? The other day I saw, iirc, Audi RS6 for (3k + 350/month)+vat

Does anyone who takes out a lease ever do under the mileage 'limit'?

I think my Golf will be going back under the mileage, but only just

Our next car will almost certainly be under too. I’ve chosen 10k miles, but the other half has just (since) been given a company car which has no real limit on mileage, other than it being a diesel Cuntyman, which somewhat limits the want to drive it anywhere

It's a silly thing to do - it tends to be the same price difference up front as paying for it later, but if you do fewer miles you don't get a refund.

That's a good point Simon, I didn't look at it that way.

Yeah, me, by a long way!

When I got the lease I was doing a few miles and we were looking at jobs that required big miles. I've been working in London and driving to the station more or less ever since.

Anyway, another lease question. If there's a bit of light damage on the car is it cheaper to give it back and pay the charge or get it fixed before giving it back?

I really CBA to get it fixed, but I don't want to be completely stung.

It’s often cheaper to hand it back however a quick read of the policy should outline the charges they can put on the car at the end.

Most of the time, the book price for repairing minor damage is cheaper than you'll be able to do it for. Worst case, you do it and the repair isn't quite up to scratch so you get charged twice. I'd not bother, and next time you lease get a car on balloon tyres ;)

Could well have been Ian.

Liking the notification of having my post quoted - but I still ignored the red circle for a bit!

edit: found the deleted email.

I realised that it's not actually that long until I need a new car. Even that Leon not being available until Oct is too late as I need something in mid-Aug (am I the only one who feels this year is going so fast it's getting away from me?).

Anything cheap with a low upfront cost considered... GO!

I don't expect to be doing many miles for the next couple of years.

I've had a nose this week for my sister in-law.

If you're after a city car you can take your pick from Kia Picanto, VW Up, Toyota Aygo, Smart Fortwo, Suzuki Swift and Citreon C1 for nothing down and £13x pm.

She then decided she'd needs (wants) something bigger 🙄

Link? Most of those ones I've seen have been 6 + 23.

I don't mind a city car, it's only really got to do the train run and the shopping run with the odd longer journey, I'd rather save the excess cash for other things.

Have a look at contract hire and leasing website and search 1 month deposit deals and max. £150 pm. Then speak to local dealers with those figures to see whats in stock .
