The first incredibles was incredible. This one was incredible too.
(Sorry)
it was boring.Simon wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 12:41 am Bird Box
Anyone else seen this yet? It's a Netflix special. It took my literally years to watch. (OK, I started watching in 2018 and have just finished in 2019)
The premise is that you're not allowed to open your eyes outside, because 'something'
Strong film actually. Good cast, very atmospheric, well written. The only thing is that in all the main films I can think of for the lead, Sandra Bullock, she's always in a predicament and I just want her to get to the end so I can see how it all pans out; Speed, Gravity, Bird Box etc.
Worth a watch though.
I thought it was a pretty imaginative take on the zombie trope, slow paced but not boring. And no glaring 'wtf did you do that for' moments that are usually present in horror. And Tom Hollander was great as the typical evil BritRich B wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 1:49 am It was another “standard Netflix movie” - interesting concept, Hollywood name, solid start/boring middle/rushed cheesy ending.
I’m not a superhero fan at all, but I watched Antman the other day and i really enjoyed it, and not just because Evangeline Lily is in it.Barry wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 3:57 pm Bought "Antman and the Wasp" at the weekend, gotta say it was a decent flik if you like superhero/character movies. The usual Marvel humour present, some good some a bit flat, and Evangeline Lily is a stone cold fox, which is nice.
Really? All the reviews I've read slate it.Jimmy Choo wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 7:34 pm With Kathryn in HK with the youngest, I've watched a batch of films with the oldest two kids.
Spiderman: into the spiderverse - Fantastic. We all loved it. Spiderman Noir was particularly awesome in a "That's Nicolas Cage doing unhinged" kind of way.
Solo - Probably in the top 3 Star Wars films. 2nd or 3rd, depending on where I put Rogue One.
Venom - good but not great. A good way to introduce the kids to the concept of an anti hero but it really should have been an 18. Hardy was good, though.
Nolan Batman Trilogy - Just watch the dark knight. Bale is good but Heath Ledger was amazing.
Oh well if JL loved it...
It's a good film in it's own right, I think you'd enjoy the Wasp for the same reasons.NotoriousREV wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 5:19 pmI’m not a superhero fan at all, but I watched Antman the other day and i really enjoyed it, and not just because Evangeline Lily is in it.Barry wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 3:57 pm Bought "Antman and the Wasp" at the weekend, gotta say it was a decent flik if you like superhero/character movies. Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie, Solo a very close second.Zonda_ wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 7:58 pmReally? All the reviews I've read slate it.Jimmy Choo wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 7:34 pm With Kathryn in HK with the youngest, I've watched a batch of films with the oldest two kids.
