So after a bit of reading, I think they’re accusing him of having used a fake Irish licence to obtain a UK licence, and then when he’s subsequently come to add new categories, they’ve checked his Irish licence and the Irish equivalent of the DVLA have said the licence doesn’t exist. I think.

I wonder if he’s been caught up in a scam and he wasn’t aware the Irish license is fake.

My Irish mate reckons there’s a fair chance it’s a legit licence but the Irish authorities just forgot to put it on the system

Would explain why he’s gone to that level of court. I’m guessing he can prove the legitimate application and test results then?

I don't see how he'd push it so far if it wasn't legit. I'll be interested to see how this pans out.
