Are they the same? I can switch the heads between our two valves easily if one fails.
No - unfortunately they are different models and manufacturers. The one i replaced was a honeywell and the other one looks to be a British gas one. otherwise id just switch them across with the old one i took off.

I think the one ive not replaced is a "Two Port"

You may well find the BG branded valve is a Drayton; a bit of googling should reveal what you can replace it with and I bet Screwfix have it in stock.

Yep. Wickes have it.

I’m going to bell the local plumbers merchant and see if they have them.

Can I ask, our combi boiler which is a Worcester something is about 12 years old now and sometimes when you switch the hot tap on it gives an almighty clattering for a few seconds, like something is struggling to open maybe. It is not something that happens every time, it wouldn't happen for instance when we had the boiler serviced and the engineer was on site and he serviced it and found apparently no problems but of late it seems to be getting worse and even now getting a buzzing vibration when the heating kicks in. Is that a common problem or do I need a guy on site when the noise happens?
Buzzing when the heating is on can sometimes be something as simple as the case vibrating slightly, you can tell if it’s this by pressing slightly on the case whilst it’s running. As for the noise on the water, it could be the divertor valve sticking, but as there’s so many things it could be you need to hear the noise to correctly identify the source.

I just replaced the motor, rather than the entire valve assembly.
Cheers,

Cheers fella, I will see if I can find said valve and if it look sticky. I appreciate boilers make a variety of noises. The heating vibration does alter if I push the outer body but not away completely, perhaps some bluetak! :D
