Gypo Vs Gobshite

Post by McSwede »

Anyone else watch Fury v Wilder last night??? I really enjoyed it and thought the Gypo was robbed. How one of the judges had Wilder up by 3 or 4 rounds defies belief.

Fury was superb throughout and even when knocked down in the 9th and 12th he came back and finished that round the strongest. How the fuck he got up off the canvas in the 12th was almost unbelievable and I'll probably never see anything like that again. Wilder showed what a poor boxer he is and all he has is a couple of power punches. First time he's fought someone decent and it's showed up his lack of skill.

Wilder looked well beaten as the fight neared its conclusion and looked like he knew he'd lost when it finished He has had a very lucky escape with a draw.

I reckon Wilder won't pursue a rematch in the short term because he knows he came up well short. I think he'll try to cash in and fight Joshua hoping he has a punchers chance to cause a massive upset. Personally I think he'll get hammered by AJ.

On a side note this was the first time I have ordered BT Sport box office on Sky Q and it was shit. I couldn't record or pause so ended up having to wait until 11am this morning to finally the bloody thing. Had to exist like a hermit until I'd seen it so I didn't get any spoilers 🤣.

First time watching Fury fight and he’s a lot better than I imagined. His ‘PlayStation glitchy’ style was fun to watch. Agreed that I thought he was done after the 2nd knockdown.

Enjoyed that.

Fury made him look stupid the whole fight, with his flailing arms. A proper schooling and Wilder was completely gassed by the end. Fury's stamina, for a big bloke, is astonishing. Wilder looked pleased with the draw.

I could only watch on BT Sport via my laptop plugged into the HDMI port on the TV, worked well enough though. £20 well spent.

They really should dub the re-match "Gypo Vs Gobshite II: The Undertaker Returns"
