I dont think canbus will give a fuck about speaker level output. Ive just changed a blown speaker on the F31 and despite it farting away no errors were shown. Additionally on the golf i run the OEM HELIX upgrade which has an integrated digital amp that taps off the high level inputs and it works a treat (Actually sounds better that the optional Meridian setup in the Jaguar XF)
This was how i had to install my amp setup in my Ibiza that had an integrated headunit. Take the high level inpute from the speakers. I had limited success fromt that. I had a 4 channel amp that run the rear 7x10's and bridged 2 channels to run the sub. I found that with the high level input driving the speaker output it resulted in whine from the alternator being played through the speakers. Only solution i could find was to run the speaker off the headunit and sub channel in a parallel from the high level.
That however was old school analogue amps. Newer digital ones may be better (Such as the HELIX that i run in the Golf)
