New cars this week

Post by Jobbo »

I watched Matt Watson/Carwow's video of the new Evoque this morning. From the pictures it didn't look all that exciting but actually I think it's a really good update; Land Rover have departed too much with the Disco from its earlier style and the Evoque has stuck to it nicely while getting a bit more modern.

However, the new Audi A1 simply looks like the bonnet isn't closed properly. WTF were they thinking?

It’s supposed to look like a SWB Quattro innit.

The new Evoque looks like the old Evoque with one of those smoothing instagram filters on it.

It’s just slightly fatter and rounder. Like every new generation of 911.
How about not having a sig at all?

I quite like the Audi, at least they're trying something different and it's shrunk the size of the gurn.

The mean macho front end looks a bit at odds with the base model shopping trolley wheels though.

I don’t like that the entire front crash bar is visible through the grill and the enormous blanked off brake ducts look pretty crap.

Crash regs innit.
I think the Kona looks worse with the many and varied lights.
Looking along the side of the A1 reminds me of the Swift.

When you get to 50 you’d be fatter and rounder too. :D

Don’t like Audi’s fake grill. Another forgettable shape, but then most Audis are.

The little grille that makes the bonnet fitment look a little odd is probably the least offensive bit of that cars front end!

The front of that Kona is such a design travesty that I don't know where to start. Such a mish-mash of lines, shapes and ideas. Who the hell signed that off?

Just realised it must be the new Audi family look.... it’s on the R8 as well.
