I did a nearly 250 mile round trip with a trailer to get this one ! Silver might not be unusual in itself, but getting the right deal takes a bit of commitment.Rich B wrote: Thu Nov 22, 2018 9:53 pm thank god your fetish wasn’t for a special edition hard to find colour!

This might even be MOAR EXTREME than the terrain mick needed a 4x4 for in order to go fishing.

Galaxy now on winters. After a summer in the shed pressures were comically low. Felt quite floaty as I drove to the petrol station to inflate them properly.
Summer tyres are down to about 3mm, so will replace before refitting in the spring. They've lasted about 15k miles which is okay, but not great. Will probably have the wheels refurbished at the same time. I think at least one of the fronts is buckled, so want that fixed.
Also need a new o/s mirror housing. It was cracked when we bought the car, but I then made it worse by smacking it into a door while driving onto the Chunnel.
May also get a few repairs to the paint done. While parked someone decided to scrape the corner of the n/s rear wheel arch.

Had the new Eagle F1s put on today - 35,100 miles on them. Pretty damn good I think for the amount of grip they offer.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

I need new rears - it's comically low on grip at the moment
Will probably go for F1s again. I didn't note when I had them fitted but I reckon the GSD2 that are on the back have done about 20k.
I could get the PS4 for very little more, but am undecided. If I needed all 4 I might go for it but the fronts have plenty of meat on them.

Until you drive from Edinburgh to Dorset and back to collect a sub-£1000 purchase, you're not going to get any sympathy with the distance of your round tripSundayjumper wrote: Thu Nov 22, 2018 10:09 pmI did a nearly 250 mile round trip with a trailer to get this one ! Yeah, fair enough. Is the drunk / eBay part optional or not ?
I had a closer look at the suspension on Compact #2 and it’s a nearly new Bilstein B12 kit, about £600-worth. Win !! I bought the car because it has the ti engine and and LSD, and the asking price was worth it for those alone, this wasn’t mentioned in the ad so is a very nice bonus.
Also, I thought the diff was leaking as the case looked black & shiny, but it turns out it’s been very badly painted with gloss black paint

Got hit on the M6 last Thursday when middle lane hogger Mazda twat decided to swerve in the side of me while I was in lane three overtaking him. It was early in the morning, so I'm guessing he was half awake, no car in front of him so no need to change lane. Considering the speed, only a minor-ish dent on the passenger door and scraps along the door and rear quarter.
Annoyingly, the twat is not admitting liability and blames me for swerving into him
. No one behind stopped, and with no dashcam, it currently looks like a partial blame claim

Re: Your fleet running reports
I dropped the Compact off yesterday for a strut brace / harness bar to be fitted. 3mm wall CDS tube, welded to 3mm plate, welded to the rear turrets. Proper.
I’ve also ordered some Mirco ST seats for the Porsche, seeing as I’ve nicked the Bimarcos for the Compact. I chickened out of getting a funky pattern so they’re just black fabric.

Get a dash cam. It’s not right, but that seems to be how the world works nowadays.Alex_ wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 9:24 am ...no dashcam, it currently looks like a partial blame claim.

Re: Your fleet running reports
I had a really cheap ebay one in the E46, picture quality wasn't great but it would have been good enough to prove liability as long as the other driver stopped. I wouldn't have banked on it getting a clear pic of the number plate if they did a runner.
I left it in the car when I sold it. I really should get a new one. I want something that will be hardwired, automatic, and completely unobtrusive.

I keep seeing Blackvue mentioned for the most unobtrusive option. I keep meaning to check them out
Re: Your fleet running reports
I’m surprised it’s not offered as an option on most new cars.
How about not having a sig at all?

This. It would be dirt cheap to incorporate into the existing sensing units behind the visor, and somewhere near the tailgate, and could even be linked to the telematics and accident alerting systems.Mito Man wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:27 pm I’m surprised it’s not offered as an option on most new cars.

I’ve just been looking at Blackvue on Amazon and the reviews are very poor considering they’re priced as a “proper” brand.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:58 pm I keep seeing Blackvue mentioned for the most unobtrusive option. I keep meaning to check them out
So looking at all brands, based on Amazon reviews I’ve ordered THIS. Review to follow...
