Not sure if this has been posted previously, but a fascinating website where you can search near you or by name for soldiers that were lost in the two World Wars. Well worth a look.

I saw (and retweeted a link) to this a couple of days ago. Amazing site - especially given it links to the Commonwealth War Graves commission and details of where each of the fallen soldiers is buried.

Edit - My other half has spent time on this at the weekend and has managed to confirm the identities of 3 members of her family who served and died in the Great War. Rumours and family half truths have been confirmed etc. We're going to Belgium next year to visit the graves and, in the case of my Great Grand Uncle who came home (Medical Discharge with Distinction from a reoccurrence of a disease he got in the Boer War), the theatre where he served. All in and around Ypres.

I found the person who lived in my house half a mile away because it was listed by the house name, not the number.
