I don't give a flying fuck about winning you idiots over. You haven't got a logical or intellectual argument to make. It's the same as arguing with anti-vaxxers or flat earthers.GG. wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:41 pmThat's the way to win them over Rev! No it isn't. Which is why he's resignedSimon wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:29 pm What I don't understand is why Raab has resigned. It's what HE negotiated! That's like literally marking AND FAILING your own homework. Ridiculous. Moron!

Its the spirit of conciliation and friendship he exudes which I really appreciate.

Re: Bye bye Theresa
I find it hard to be friendly towards those that have voted to strip me of my rights and make me worse off without even being able to articulate in any solid way what the benefits will actually be and when they'll be delivered. We've been here before and all I got from you last time was "I've explained my reasons previously so I'm not doing it again", which is something I've seen a lot from Brexiters.GG. wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:51 pm Its the spirit of conciliation and friendship he exudes which I really appreciate.
In my many, many online arguments, only one person has actually been able to articulate why they voted for remain in a way I could understand their point of view, even though I still disagreed.
Even after all of this chaos, even after all of the facts have been dragged out into the light, I simply can't wrap my mind around how people could possibly believe that Brexit is in any way desirable. No deal would be disastrous, this deal is basically the worst of all worlds, only stopping Brexit actually makes sense. Stop it, and actually commit to using our power and influence to shape the EU to be what we want. We're just as influential as France or Germany but we've spent too long being halfway out of the door.

Simon makes some good points and I agree. This is a step forward and I thought it was quite good considering the position we are in at this time. Plenty of scope to amend and tweak rather toys out of the pram.

I’m just waiting for my opportunity to smile when the industry in this country takes a further dump and all the people who voted leave get interviewed on the news saying how they were supposed to be better off...
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Bye bye Theresa
There is time for another referendum, notwithstanding that there isn't a need for one. However, I can see it still happening, ridiculous notion though a second referendum is, to give MPs some justification for voting to stay in the EU.GG. wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:13 pm
It isn't really a viable option Carlos, no. It really only works if the following happens:
1) the ECJ case concludes we can unilaterally revoke Article 50, OR the EU27 agree to us doing so; and
2) Parliament votes to have another referendum to determine whether we should revoke Article 50 (to give them the political mandate to do so)... but which they don't have time to arrange before March... OR they decide to revoke without doing so (which even the "People's Vote" proponents aren't advocating).
So, for perhaps the only time in my life I agree with Guy Verhofstadt on that point.
Point 1 will be covered off within the next couple of weeks so that's disposed of long before any second referendum would be held.
Currently, we can only consider possibilities. Jacob Rees-Mogg has tried to start a no-confidence motion but doesn't want to be PM. Nobody really does other than Corbyn, and no Tory can possibly have a plan which hands power to Labour, surely?

Apparently the PM has booked a press conference outside number 10 at 5pm. Resigning?

As in not using any of the following vacuous and completely meaningless phrases: undemocratic, EUSSR, sovereignty, take back control, will of the people etc.Rich B wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:47 pmumm...NotoriousREV wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:07 pmIn my many, many online arguments, only one person has actually been able to articulate why they voted for remain in a way I could understand their point of view, even though I still disagreed.
