Winter project teaser

Post by Nefarious »

I'm not quite ready to fully reveal yet, but I'm bursting with excitement so can't resist doing a little teaser ;)

I have a winter project. It's not directly car related, but involves at attempt to do something pretty extreme in a vehicle that's never been successfully done before.

Things it involves:
Cold
Danger
Engines
Speed
Being a long way from home
A 6-part series on Discovery

Things it doesn't involve:
Wheels
Roads/tracks
A stopwatch

Hoping to get clearance from the production company in the next few days to be able to reveal more... :D :D :D

Microlight or hovercraft to a Pole? Probably not enough speed for it to be one of those.
First jetpack ascent of Everest?
Minisub to the Pole?
Northwestern passage by jetski?
Hot air balloon in the jetstream?

Scarily, some of the guesses aren't too far away. The right vehicle and the right geographic location have both been mentioned.

Funnily enough, we did look at building something a bit like it - inspired by this https://www.hautetime.com/amphibious/88 ... sdkS44N63w and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiLxXWgwj0M

However, the *danger of immediate death* factor has encouraged a somewhat less DIY/untested theory approach to the whole project, so we'll be modifying commercially available vehicles rather than building from scratch (slight shame, as we had a Subaru diesel and two Honda fireblades all ready to go)
