Re: The ebay thread
Are real RS4s unattainable now?
Re: The ebay thread
I hope so, I'll white-background the crap out of mine and retire

Re: The ebay thread
No, but the B5 RS4 was estate only.

It looks nowt like a Cobra, it you wanted to do that why wouldn't you buy a Cobra rep shell and drop the running gear in?integrale_evo wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 11:45 pm Bmw z3 cobra

Re: The ebay thread
Guessing a Cobra shell costs much more than £2500 - but not looking shit is pretty priceless isn’t it.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: The ebay thread
Nah, you can get a brand new rolling chassis for £5k, looks the part too.Mito Man wrote: Sun Oct 28, 2018 12:52 am Guessing a Cobra shell costs much more than £2500 - but not looking shit is pretty priceless isn’t it.

Re: The ebay thread
I can see why you would use a from an engineering point of view. All the panels including rear quarters are bolt on/off, a complete interior, and a proper factory developed roof.
However, they weren't ever a great drive, and they're surprisingly expensive unless you want a slow 1.9 4parper.
It's also a bit worrying that to fit the front end they have removed the main bumper beam and dampers which link the front end of the two main chassis legs together so even a low speed bump is likely to cause significant damage.

Too much? Too little?
I haven't watched the vids linked in the ad admittedly.

Re: The ebay thread
How much would you pay for a hacked up golf with scrapyard running gear?
I'd say £1500 was optimistic myself.

Good points well made. I'd thought of it in terms of how much it'd cost to have someone do the chassis mods, and made the assumption you'd have to tinker with it anyway. No, tinkering doesn't mean replacingeveryfeckinbit.

Re: The ebay thread
Does that even have the power to turn those wheels?!
Re: The ebay thread
Looks like some sort of supercharged V8 up front, so it should be OK
edit - although it sure as hell isn't chucking out 500 bhp on an s/c Rover V8 boat anchor.
