I've just remembered the best bit of one of the calls I had with them.

To set context: I ended up with the Astra on a temporary policy. I'd specifically asked them about this because I didn't know how long I needed the Astra for (it was all down to parts availability on the Stagea) but they'd told me I could just extend the temp policy as needed. I'd already extended the policy twice and called the third time to extend it again at which point they tried to charge me double what they'd charged previously. I queried it, and they told me the additional charge was their usual admin charge. I explained I hadn't been charged it previously, and that I hadn't been told of this charge when discussing whether this was the right product for me. Their answer" "Well, if you haven't been charged for it previously, that's all the more reason to make sure you pay it this time"

It was on a home policy so may not work for car insurance but my renewal quote from Quote me Happy was lower. I am not sure that has ever happened to me before. Insurance does seem to be an area where you get proper fucked.

I dealt with Coop Insurance when the Saab got pranged last month and they were great, the policy holder seemed really pleased with them too so may be worth a shout as you only really know how good they are when you claim!

I sacked them this yr too, renewal was £570. I got identical cover elsewhere for £283. And that wasn't the cheapest quote.
