The financial side of things is pretty clear, the debt Vs the revenue is scary!

But, just like the dot.com bubble, the tech doesn’t go away afterwards. We all still use the internet all day long despite a load of people losing their shirt.

Three trillion dollars of circular financing with no one making anything useful is good right?
An absolute unit

It's good if you invested in Nvidia about four years ago.

I remember doing funding applications 6 or 7 years ago and having to crowbar machine learning, LLM or AI in the proposals, as funders got weak at the knees the moment they heard those words!

I read (or watched, can't remember...) something last week that was basically saying that the industrial revolution brought us machinery that replaced men's muscles but everything worked out ok; it made us more efficient and it introduced more jobs and different industries
I’d say this is less Industrial Revolution and more replacing British coal with imported coal, or more recently replacing British steel with imported steel- ignoring the many reasons those things happened and just loooking at the jobs situation- if you go to any of the old pit villages or steel towns in the north east, nothing replaces those jobs, and so began the cycle of lifetime benefit recipients. See also where I was born- the town of Billingham. Once named the most prosperous town in the country because of the boom from ICI, and now nothing. Most of the chemical works have gone, granted we’ve got a massive new Fujifilm site but that’s nothing compared to what was once here, and won’t be like it once was where ICI built the town for the workers- can’t imagine the workforce for Fujifilm being almost exclusively from Billingham like the old days

FOUR METER PLATFORM (with rubber mats at the bottom - so we can assume it breaks on anything harder)
REAL FOOTAGE (of props for reference only) (definitely not fake)
ENDURANCE OF EIGHT HOURS (Standing for approximately eight hours)

So it'll stand around for six hours, take three steps and fall over after running out of charge.

Amazing.

I wish any potential owners a happy attempted murder trial when they try to use it to end an argument with their neighbour about where their garden boundary ends. That roundhouse kick is basically being done with a mallet, people understand that, right? It will literally kill someone with the first hit and the owner will be responsible for it.

They should get out when it's good, because when it busts, it's likely gonna bust hard and it's gonna be ugly.

The map is fucked, but the itinerary is precisely what Americans like to do. It’s a lot to squeeze in, but it does work if you are relentless and have no chill

Anyway, I know nothing about security and PHP but the press are making this sound important

It is. It's an unauthenticated - so no details needed - remote code exploit.

So someone can tap your server in a specific way, and then just get it to do shit that person wants to do, not you - be that snarfing the entire database, being part of a botnet, or being used to store or transit kiddy grot, etc.

@Matty sidebar but you probably want to make sure you've run your updates for this one, we did it yesterday afternoon as soon as the patches were available.

Unrelated, but fun:

We are so fucking cooked by this unsustainable bullshit.
