Harry’s Garage
Re: Harry’s Garage
Not sure how Harry has only managed 31mpg when he’s plugging it in. I’m on 43.2mpg lifetime average and 57mpg in September without trying, just plugging in whenever I’m at home.
I liked his comparison to Alpinas. It definitely has much more of a way of encouraging you to drive it hard than, say, my lighter Audi S6 so there’s M character in it. I didn’t particularly think the E34 M5 was terribly motorsporty but it was still a totally lovely car. Felt heavy despite being under 1700kg. I think the M5 CS has altered people’s views of what an M5 is, but the new one isn’t a CS version and isn’t trying to be.

Ha - also just watched this. I noticed that he can only get the end of one or other of the words correct, not both. He seemed consistently to say "Granda Panda" or "Grande Pande"integrale_evo wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2026 4:44 pm Worth watching the latest one of only for the variety of ways “Grande panda” can be said
Also "furescent" rather than "fluorescent"
Re: Harry’s Garage
Surprised it took Harry 6 months to realise that a much heavier M5 is not as sporting as a much lighter M5. In other news water is wet.
How about not having a sig at all?

Did you see the comment about checking the front rads for sleeping cats!? May be pertinent..Jobbo wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2026 7:24 pm Not sure how Harry has only managed 31mpg when he’s plugging it in. Lovely colour and didn’t know you could get a tow bar…

Yes, my wife pointed out the potential for cats to sleep in the front. I’ve only had to remove leaves myself. Harry allowing a discarded bottle to remain in his

Ooh, what's Harry buying?

Hundreds of thousands he says. Not a Murray thing I guess.

My first guess was a Singer though I suspect the waiting list is more than 18 months for those. He did specifically mention personalisation though.

Que?
The 12 banger stick shift starts somewhere about three quarters of a million quid so I doubt it's that.

It is expensive, but I am starting to think that Harry was being coy about the price so it could be that. I reckon he's planning to sell the Countach too but that needs fixing so the P8 is for sale first.Jimmy Choo wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 9:06 amThe 12 banger stick shift starts somewhere about three quarters of a million quid so I doubt it's that.

As I said to the EVO guys when they asked if i'd approached Harry about testing my car - 'he wouldn't get his belly in it'.Jimmy Choo wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 9:06 amJobbo wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2026 9:23 pm My first guess was a Singer though I suspect the waiting list is more than 18 months for those. Did Harry cover the Tuthill 911K? Not sure that would be his bag?
Merc 190 Evo2 restomod HWA thingy?
I suspect it’s McLaren flavoured, but he has one of them and seems smitten with it.

Re: Harry’s Garage
Harry is allergic to depreciation so buying a brand new McLaren seems a bit unlikely.
Re: Harry’s Garage
That's a shame as the project 8 was my favourite modern car he has.

Re: Harry’s Garage
The 6GT is apparently a limited run model, so maybe it would be collectable? It's probably over £1m though so perhaps it's not this.Jobbo wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 11:21 am Harry is allergic to depreciation so buying a brand new McLaren seems a bit unlikely.

I think he's being coy and it is a GMA T33. Although £1.37m is a bit far off hundreds of thousands

I was about to post the same, there are hundreds of thousands in millions after all.speedingfine wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2026 1:05 pm I think he's being coy and it is a GMA T33. Although £1.37m is a bit far off hundreds of thousands![]()
