It’s not even that. Bloke in the instagram post didn’t invent it. It’s a slight based on the stereotype of Jewish people being careful with money, and beige or brown cars being unpopular and therefore cheap. And beige being vaguely gold-ish in colour.

Calling something “JRG” is saying “it’s shit and only a Jew would buy it”. That’s why it’s offensive.

I never knew, I first heard it from a Jewish electrical principles instructor with a gold sierra. Then I think the guy who had a blue SEL, Diablo, Espada etc.
It was always seen as a high spec or expensive car with gold paint.

£500 delivery or £599 warranty + £250 delivery.

Looking at the prices, my thinking is that this will hold value better even if I put another 30k miles on it over the next few years.

I did EXACTLY this in my PhD. And in basically the same car (‘06 plate 987 Boxster S). Bought with the proceeds of a house sale… who needs a house. That little girl is right.

Can I ask, why a Cayman and not a Boxster? I admit, I’m a tart that loves convertibles but to me it increases the sense of occasion and enjoyment.

Little girl is followed by Monkey, Porter etc and is doing it right, as you did when you were young… time to show the kids that oldies can be cool too!

I’d generally choose metal/hard top over convertible, so Cayman would always be my choice over boxster,

(LS7 converted) Griff would be an exception where I’d take soft top - as there is no other option. Yet weirdly I’d take softie MX5 over an RF.

Of course every person to their own… however…

For something which was always designed as a hard top- i.e. a 911, I would very much go with the original design. For something which was originally designed as a convertible such as the Boxster I personally wouldn’t.

There is then the category of cars that perhaps were originally tin tops but for aural reasons I’d probably go for the ‘vert, e.g. anything V10 and folding hard top N/A v8 Ferrari (458)
