I actually ordered a different set on amazon months ago but the delivery date keeps going back (I assume it will never come) and I wanted a set that would be here while I'm off work so even though I'd looked at it before and was a bit meh about it, it was on discount, will make a good stable mate for my other GT40 and is more pieces so I think it will be fun to build.

This is a great set! Three bags in, bags one and two were a particularly marvel with all the internal mechanisms, I'm in awe of the way they design these things. Quite a lot more complicated than the GT40 with all the suspension / diff etc.

Lego's greatest skill is not making more tires than anyone else, or being exceptionally good at injection moulding. It's being exceptionally well tuned into pop culture of middle aged dipshits with disposable income like us... I do really like the Wallace and Gromit one and will probably get it. Though I have heard this type of larger scale more detailed model described as 'display slop' - on the basis that it deviates quite a long way from what Lego was really all about, no play features etc. And I can see that. I've bought quite a lot of the 2026 City sets and they're really good (avoid the 4+ ones which are aimed at younger kits so have some extra-large parts like a car chassis in one piece).

Very much this, did you see their last financial report? I think only like half of that was me too..
Although I'm debating disassembling and storing lots of my Lego and associated brick products to free up shelf space I love W&G and will probably get that.

Duncs, the white Countach of a similar scale is due to retire at the end of the year, so if you're interested in that to go with the 911 then I'd buy it while it's still around. Can't see any discounts currently but maybe one to grab if there is an offer - it has been on offer regularly.

2 ships to build, 2 Land Rovers and various other sets but I hear rumours of a large Godzilla set on the way.
We are currently part way through the Godzilla Showa era movies and the kids are loving it, part Godzilla, part Gerry Anderson style movie. Having this on christmas day will make quite the scene.

Nothing official - but Godzilla is rumoured to be well over £300 and to be launched on 27 November.
Frankly I think I'm more likely to get Downton Abbey but perhaps then swap the minifigs out for Cruise and Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut, also filmed at Highclere Castle.

And pondering buying UCS Falcon before its gone ££££
