Pistachios

1. I buy pre-shelled pistachios, as I prefer to suck the little joys out of my life

2. It’s simply impossible. Can’t be done.

3. My mate Danny’s uncle’s milkman claimed he didn’t once. But I’m not sure I believe him.

4. It can only be done once you’ve consumed at least 50% of the bag, but by then the edge of hunger / lust has been removed. Hence it doesn’t count.

5. I don’t like pistachios, and should therefore never be trusted.

Pistachios

Post by mik »

Man/woman be hungry.

Opens bag of pistachios.

Would like an initial hit of 10-15 nuts please. But you can’t get more than two or three shelled before the next one is automatically routed to your gob. Your brain won’t allow you to just continued stockpiling the shelled ones.

Is it even possible?

I don't understand the question. You open one at a time, surely. No one opens multiple before consuming, that's where madness lies - like people who park nose-first in a bay, or put toilet roll on the wrong way around.

As someone with severe portion instability, I like Pistachios as it allows paced consumption, unlike cashews which result in giant fistfulls at a time.

I think this is about being unable to stop once you start eating them. Which is why I don’t buy them often. I hoover up the little corner pieces once I’ve finished them like a crack addict finding the crumbs (I assume).

The salt and pepper ones might as well be put on an addictive substances list 😂

I like nuts. We go through a large bag of M&S's nut selection a week, alternating between the roasted (no pistachios, but extra crunch) and the natural (with pistachios which the kids don't like, therefore more for me).
