Watching the Ch4 highlights yesterday, I don’t think there was was any mention of how much they’re having to clip and harvest. Media blackout on criticism coming from liberty media and the FIA?

Watching the classic f1 highlights they put up a few days ago reminds us of how flat out they used to be able to drive, those V10s absolutely screaming at the end of the straights.

This may be the worst race this year but I’ve forgotten most of them pretty quickly. The cars look visibly slow and even off board you see them run out of puff.

So it turns out they did have time to adjust Hamilton's front wing, it's just the mechanic with the tool to adjust it appeared to be daydreaming and went on a nice trip over Hamilton's front wheel!

He's quite lucky, normally accidents like that are much worse.

Spoilers... Nice to see LN on pole and Ferrari not far behind. I'm all for Merc dominance being challenged in the second half of the season!

Does feel a bit like the power train in the Merc is masking a pretty ordinary chassis, not sure how many other circuits will be like that?

Shame LH got the penalty, it would be nice if someone could eat into Antonelli's lead, but they're kinda all taking points off one another at the moment.

My god BBC glazing Norris after being gifted the win is obnoxious.

"Norris and Mclaren almost perfect"
I won't read through that nonsense but I recall Norris falling off the track about 3 times and Mclaren strategy only saved by the pace of the car.

The cars don't make much sense, how the Mercedes can go from such dominance to being so average. Maybe their powertrain advantage is only on tracks where the battery gets fully depleted.

Max is getting very boring with his whinging, the Red Bull seems to be a solid car. Bet GP can't wait to go to Mclaren.

Lewis needs to sort himself out. He's still very fast but seems to be a bit of an idiot lately with all the penalties he's racking up. Would probably be 25 points nearer to Antonelli if not for it.

Norris was by far and away quickest though wasn't he? Oscar couldn't gap him in clean air, and he was the only driver that was remotely competitive on worn tyres.

I think that's exactly it re the Merc isn't it? On this circuit all the cars can easily harvest as much energy as they need to basically go flat out, which seems to neutralise Merc's advantage.
