Spotted yesterday on my way back down the M6: YouTube clickbaiter The Macmaster in his Taycan, reg L88DVY, going northbound. I don’t watch or subscribe to his channel but YouTube has served up enough of his dross to me that I recognise his car 😂

The local toy store had an open day with select customers invited to bring their cars to show in addition to what was in the showroom. There was free (proper) coffee and a decent buffet. Boys where besides themselves with excitement.

Caveat: I'm no @KiwiDave with the cameras and lenses. It is better than potatocam, but don't expect too much.

A Singer, probably the least shouty thing there. Stunning details.

Called "Goblin" because green! Owner was there, just had the engine recommissioned/rebuilt for a small six-figure sum. Opined it was cheap as the engine rebuild cost of the Chiron he was thinking of replacing it with would be closer to 500k.

One for @Marv. They had two other E46 M3s in stock, "just" the normal manual ones, though.
Image

This was all in a sea of more pedestrian supercars, your boggo F458s, F488s, 812s, Aventadors, etc. And along the back G-wagons, a high-spec new Defender, a Cullinan (eeew), and an RR Coupe.

Hidden away (somewhat visible in a couple of pics ) were a Clio V6, R34 and R35 GT-Rs, and a Carrera GT.

Guest cars were mostly modern-ish with the Countach as the outlier.

I was never a massive fan of Singers, thinking they were just overpriced modded 911s. But after looking at quite a few at Goodwood FoS for some time I realised it is the detailing which really makes them and started to get it.

Looking at their website, for £850k I hope the details really are amazing 😅

Of course I only looked at their site to see how much they are flogging the common as muck CSL for, but it's not listed, so I'm guessing it's already sold.

Definitely on the cheaper end of the cars they sell!

Yeah, Singer pricing is quite mad but I’d rather spend my £500k+ on one than a TWR Supercat.

I guess singer production is so personalised that each one is basically unique so it’s the old “find another one” if you don’t like the price

Well that, and there’s a certain type of buyer (mostly American) who aren’t interested in anything if it doesn’t cost $1m+ (aka small penis syndrome)

I've only had a proper look around one SInger (at a local car event, so close up) and whilst it was very very lovely, the level of focus on some of the details goes considerably beyond my level of concern, and they do feel a little "built upwards to a price" ?

I've already mentally separated them as "trinkets/investments" whereas I have the Tuthill restomods in some kind of "object that is driven regularly and hard" category. Which may be entirely wrong of course. :geek:

I think the trinket/investment comment applies to the majority of the high-end stuff they had on show. I doubt anyone buys a G-Wagon as an investment, but the rest applies.

Spotted my first Purosangwich the other day. Design was pretty swoopy/nice, but it did look pretty big.

Not spotted by me, but - delivery mileage R5….

Saw a McLaren 12C yesterday, still a handsome looking thing. Volcano Orange looks great in the sun.

Had to do an ai search to find out what this one was, KTX X-Bpw GT-XR. Looked like a proper hypercar from the angle I saw it, though they seem to look a bit more awkward from the front.

I don't pass that spot when I'm in Cheltenham but I will have to make a detour. Lovely.

A Singer would still be the ultimate for me, I've only seen one in the flesh and the attention to detail and quality of components and workmanship is just off the scale.
Cheers,

Mike.
