They sub it out to local repairers, guy came out today, confirmed it in 2 mins and will be back with a new power board. Fingers crossed for another 4+ years out of this one.
I’m impressed it is repairable these days.
Anyone had to claim on the 6yr Richer Sounds warranty? That’s what I always weigh up against John Lewis but the last telly I had go wrong was from somewhere else and out of warranty.

Costco has 5 years included in the price on TVs. Never had any issues returning anything else but sadly all my tvs still work so it’s an unknown

That's it, my neighbours are gone and I can't quite believe it

They're still fighting a totally fruitless legal case, they've applied once again to the courts today, and they tried taking it to the high court a couple of weeks ago, who totally dismissed their application. They've lost every single claim/application they've filed, the total number is running into double figures now. They are now frighteningly close to being put on a public list due to the harassment and abuse of the legal process https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -orders--2

My overall rating for a 2,500 day legal dispute with neighbours is minus eleventybillion out of ten.

Yep, they've left the building and it's been secured and sealed with metal security panels and doors.

Finally light at the end of the tunnel - presume you still have the clear up/refurb on the cards, but at least then it's not going to involve a series of legal challenges that look like fucking Markov chains.

+ what everyone else said! Just don't go over the top with the celebrations, by doing something silly like drinking three glasses of wine

What a silly thing to do to ruin your last years on earth, clearly something badly wired up there.

Happy to hear it's all over.

Want me to send over a bottle of Cif and a kitchen roll ?

Dave!

Fabulous news! Maybe you could temporarily convert it into an escape room (house?) to fund the refurb! I imagine it’s quite terrifying in there!

I went in there earlier. It's grim, hard to believe anyone was living in there. There was a team on site - an ex-bailiff who was representing me, a locksmith and two security guys to do the shuttering. They all deal with exactly these situations almost every day and said it's the worst they've ever seen

Next steps are torts notices for them to come back and collect the junk they've left, which should take 6-8 weeks, then get the flat cleared, and after that it's all wrapped up and can be stripped down and refurbed.
