Re: Bye By Farage...
I can’t lie. I’m hooked.
I just want to see just how well a joke candidate, with no real policies, a seemingly thin grip on reality, and who seems more concerned with being a talking point and making a farce of the democratic process than actually serving local residents, fares against Count Binface.

Re: Bye By Farage...
It’s getting serious. Andrew Marr was interviewing Binface on LBC earlier

The interview at 9:55 is very entertaining

Re: Bye By Farage...
I would not be shocked if it was quite a big turnout! If it was my constituency I'd be very excited to vote for binface. It's going to get loads of attention, and basically binface is going to get all the people that don't vote for Nige. I'm sure Nige will win, but all those people that hate Nige probably used to be split between all the other parties, now they've only got one option (hopefully other independens don't spoil it)!
I'm sure it's a long shot, but it could turn out to be the most spectacular own goal in political history.

Re: Bye By Farage...
I assume if it looks marginal Nige will pivot and drop out for other made up reasons. Does that hand the victory to binface, I don't know...

Re: Bye By Farage...
The challenge will be keeping momentum - the press will be moving back to Burnham and the leadership “contest” shortly, so Binface will have to stay relevant when it picks up again at the end of the month/august.

Re: Bye By Farage...
Some half baked wannabe MP will ruin it by standing as an independent and diluting the vote. I really hope not though. We need a straight fight, binface vs Nige.
Re: Bye By Farage...
Wouldn’t it be lovely if Binface actually became an MP.
This creating space for the next Lord Sutch/Binface candidate standing in every by-election going forward too. An important succession plan.

Re: Bye By Farage...
I've got no idea what binface would do if he actually got elected, but I bloody well want to find out!
Re: Bye By Farage...
Oh, is that the one where the Reform staffer says that Farage wasn't acting in a political capacity when he was the CEO of Reform, but not elected as an MP.
Truly, this is sub-trumpian bollocks. Imagine being incompetent at lying.
Also, on the subject of Binface, the guy behind it, here's his portfolio.

All political and current affairs stuff. Which you have to research carefully to be able to write jokes about.
There's a solid chance Jon Harrvey/Binface might be a more effective politician than Farage, and I'm only being moderately hyperbolic there.

Re: Bye By Farage...
Oh, what a surprise.
I mean, I'm assuming that's accurate, I've never watched that fucking show.

Re: Bye By Farage...
I think Farage could actually be in a spot of bother here.
By-election turnout is notoriously low, and I suspect the Reform vote only turns out once they are already in a polling booth. The psychology of the electorate at the moment is that they are more motivated to vote *against* someone they hate than positively behind any particular ideology.
Might be a good time for the main parties to decide that political engagement and low turnout is a real national issue and use some of their election funds to really get the vote out in Clacton. All in the name of driving political engagement, of course.

Not a single part of this is anything but embarrassing for everyone involved.
