I’ve had our Shepherd in the back of the Evora quite a bit recently as we’ve been using a new trainer. She’s really happy in there - great view out the front if she wants to watch, and ample room to lie down. It does appear to amuse other road users also.

My dawg doesn’t take up much space, and tends to do half the journeys in front footwell (passenger!). Even my mother has questioned why I need an estate!.. Ofcourse, I explained how useful an estate is, blah blah… and then spent the rest of the day looking at two seaters!

Is the rear bumper part "sporty" extruded diffuser, part US regs? They usually have protruding bumpers.

Since it's not present on a US-spec i5 I can't see why it becomes necessary on an M5. Example US spec i5 pictured:

Might just be Alfa doing a shoddy job of turning an EU sized plate recess into a US one. Teslas have a pretty flat rear end and the US ones are no different and that's legal in every state there.

Zoe back. No leaks from the Aircon and the charging issue seems to be related to the wall charger, not the car. No damage to the connectors or anything else visible, but a couple of codes for lost comms with the charger.

Will try to charge it somewhere else to check. The log on the Zappi wasn't much help.

Kuga is leaving me in the next couple of weeks to be replaced by a 330e Touring.

Been a lovely car, I'd spend my own money on a 3 year old one as a family car I needed one, it's been 100% reliable, needed 2 tyres in 36000 miles and that's it other than servicing.

Managed Heathrow to Leeds on Friday in 3 Hours and 11 minutes and still did 59mpg even though the drive battery was flat.

Only complaint is the suspension is a bit too hard, I don't think people really need a biggish family car to handle as well as it does, id happily sacrifice it for ride comfort.

Sound system is well above average for its price point IMO, seats are comfy, big boot, clever folding and sliding rear seats to make the most of the room, quick enough once up and running to overtake quickly when needed, but a bit slow off the line.

Interested to see how the 330e compares to both the Kuga and my GTE, on paper it's supposedly a bit quicker than the Golf, but I think that maybe mainly a traction advantage off the line.

Bigger (longer) boot will be welcome, but I think the interior will be more cramped. Also looks to have less toys as it's a Sport, not a M Sport, I think the Sport suits the roads round here better on 17's and with hopefully slightly more forgiving suspension.

A 330e Sport is an uninspiring car

I managed to blag a Tucson N Line S 4wd PHEV instead.

Ok, it's not a fun car, but it's a better family car than the 330, and it has a MUCH nicer interior, and the 4wd will certainly help where we live in winter.

Shame as I've never had a BMW, would have been interesting, but it would need to be a higher spec one for sure.

I'm amused at the change of heart there. Hyundais really seem to hit the nail on the head for everyday usable nice cars these days.

Not much point playing guess the new car as I've posted about them on a regular basis recently, so here it is

Caterham 7 310R which is the racier version of the 152BHP engined model so has the LSD, adjustable suspension, lightened flywheel, superlight wide track suspension and a few other bits. The colour is Ferrari Grigio Titanio, basically titanium silver which doesn't photograph too well but is a really nice colour. I've just been for a quick run into the Peak district and loving it plus I think this gets the most attention of any car I've had, and there have been a few. It's quite amusing when people start randomly talking to you at traffic lights

Yokohama AO52. It did have Avons fitted but the rears were an advisory on the MOT so they replaced the full set. Avons are now NLA and Nova tyres who have taken over aren’t legal for road use apparently
