McLaren W1

Far better looking than the F80 ✅️, but it does have a quartic steering wheel ❎️

Send me links to cars for sale with throttle bodies.

My son has been rocking the hotwheels version for a few weeks now. Can't see the steering wheel on that though.

I've watched the CH video. I'd quite happily take one of those, love that they've gone to RWD and HPAS.

1300-1400kg is a decent effort. I wonder if on the next iteration they could just bin off the batteries and have an 1100kg version! I was going to say and add a Manuel box too, but sometimes I wonder if at these levels of performance even I would prefer a paddle. I'll have to buy a GMA to assess that.

With GMA and the Valhalla also looking quite a decent proposition, there's actually quite a lot of interesting options for a lotto garage! :)

We just need to wait for one to be submerged and then rebuilt by Tavarish

I'd like to think a manual would be better but I can't imagine that kind of performance without 2 hands on the steering wheel at all times 😂

A P1 with the wick turned up plus an appendix of a hybrid system to disguise turbo lag. Snore.

Harry's Whyrah R Evo Type-RS Evo thing sounded flipping incredible even if it's probably slower against the clock.

Quickest car I have driven is Pete (RevsRUs) 's 600LT. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't get all in a lather thinking about the fact this W1 has double the power/weight ratio.

Beany Potato cam vid of the owner of TheLotusForums taking a p-ride round Silverstone GP circuit in an Evija.

Sound is utterly uninspiring, and whilst it is ridiculously fast - you're then on the brakes far earlier. The straight at the old pits for example (around 45secs) almost dissapears. It's there one moment. Then it isn't. But the braking phase before Copse is huuuuuge.

Has been interesting listening to a few Evo podcasts (they'd kinda passed me by until venerable forum member Robinoz reminded me that Catchpole is always worth listening to). Anyway, they recently chatted about Restomods vs Supercars and one key difference was that for similarly HUGE sums of money the Restomods delivery "interactive" driving in a way new Super/Hyper/Mega/Gigacars generally do not.

That colossal performance has come at the expense of more and more layers between driver and vehicle.

Could turbo'd Viper/Ruf/Mcar or other mad modded machine have similar power to weight as a W1? Probably, with deep enough wallet and enough appetite for engine disintegration. At anything other than a dragstrip, comically overmatched by the Macca. More fun everywhere else though...?

One more tangential thought, rule of thumb was that brakes delivered "thousand/s" of equivalent hp no matter if you were in an everyday hatch or something further up the performance ladder. Acceleration vs Deceleration was completely asymmetric. With skyrocketing POWER and AWD those are now equalising to simply grip grip grip everywhere and maybe again reducing the difference a driver may want to experience.
