£29k includes suspension and so on I think. The basic stage 1 engine is under £7k+VAT, so there's labour obviously in it too. I'd like to know a bit more about what you get for £29k; if you go for the £75k+ restomod you get a bare metal respray, so buying a car which doesn't need a respray must surely be the way to do it. Apart from the ND3 not yet being tunable by BBR, I have no desire to alter a fairly new car which is already fast enough. There's something about the way the Jag V6 fits in the mk1 and mk2 which appeals.

You’d need a lobotomy at that price. Mind you I think the E46 M3 Touring is worse. At least with the MX5 you get an upgrade and not just a bigger boot that you can’t realistically utilise because of the cost of the thing

I agree with Chris, but I also didn’t know the Supersport came with the alloys in Ian’s link at all. The standard ones are a different design.
Edit: just checked the configurator and there they are, the middle choice. Heavier than the superlight 18” standard alloys, not forged like the 19” optional ones in Chris’s photo;
definitely the worst choice from a technical standpoint too.
