Re: The Watches Thread
Looks like you’ve stolen it from the fallout power armour
Re: The Watches Thread
I quite like this one. Not that I'd ever have any use for it, or any other dive watch for that matter, but when did that stop anyone

I have a Hamilton Khaki Mechanical so am a bit biased to the brand.

I'm sure some of you will be aware of https://www.timefactors.com/
The owner has been suffering from ill health for a while and I've just read that he has died. I've got a couple of his watches so I'll be wearing one today, just because

Re: The Watches Thread
Thanks for posting that John. I was aware of Eddie but didn’t know he was ill. Some lovely Smiths recreations were down to him so that’s a sad loss.
Re: The Watches Thread
So…. 4 months on : the story / saga.
Received the original watch. In the website images the hands and indices looked grey. Non. Black indices and black hands, against a slightly-different-level-of-matt black dial.
Told them I wasn’t happy. Unless lit up with a spotlight - couldn’t read the time. Not ideal for a timepiece. OK - they could mod to my desires.
I opted for the same hands and indices (with lume) in white, and a more chunky bezel. Yes can do that. Lovely. Please post back.
Returned watch to USA. ZIP code was correct, but somehow I managed to type “133” for the street number instead of “113” (or vice versa - can’t remember). Fucking US fucking Mail fucking company fucking claimed fucking didn’t fucking recognise the fucking address and fucking sent it fucking back to fucking me. The fucking fuckers.
Sent it back to US using correct fucking address.
“We’ve recieved this. Now sending to Thailand where our techs are”. Fucking fucks sake.
So despite agreeing to swap hands for the same in white (with lume) and a dial with the same indices in white (with lume)….. they couldn’t do this. Sigh.
Aligned on a slightly more grown up option instead. Arrived today. Decide I actually prefer more grown up option. So…. in the end I am happy, but what a ballache it was to get here.
Finish is good, and the lume is ridiculous. Way stronger than any of my other watches.

Re: The Watches Thread
Could they not leave the lightning bolt seconds hand on it?
Re: The Watches Thread
Yes, but not with white/lume.

Re: The Watches Thread
the lightning hand was horrible imo - you’ve ended up with a far nicer option!
Re: The Watches Thread
I think it's lost its character. And since Mik ordered it with the lightning hand - an obvious nod to the Rolex Milgauss - I imagine he liked it.Rich B wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 7:27 am the lightning hand was horrible imo - you’ve ended up with a far nicer option!

I did of course like the funkier hands on the original design, but since the white/lume option was only available on less funky hands I had to choose. I could have gone with the contrasting colour lightning second hand, but decided the simpler white/lume tipped second hand was possibly a better match(?).
Re: The Watches Thread
That's lovely - and I think the second hand is better than the lighting one on the original
Re: The Watches Thread
I really like that Mik, looks decent.
Although I would have to only have Seiko written on the dial. The rest is like having GT3 RS written on a modded MR2
