Pains me to post this, but a my mate who had a good garage (and did some TV stuff) had a fire next to his unit that, er, destroyed *his* unit, so he has to sell shit. Because it's basically killed his business given that all the bona fide classics in his workshop burned to the ground. All insured, but anyone who has gone through insurance knows how long that takes, and how important cashflow is...

XK8 4.2, favourite of his, well looked after, has to go.

I'd buy it myself if I didn't have a 3.0 SC F-type on my horizon, and a Z4C outside

Slightly odd one. An F10 M5, with the major stuff (valve seals & rod bearings) done. That's good. But immediately goes into some "easy job but I haven't got around to it" excuses. That's bad. Then says it's for his youtube channel. That's good ? But it's not been released yet. That's bad ?

Then you check and the video was published a month ago and he is painfully painfully stupid and knows absolutely nothing about the car he's making a video about. It also seems to be a neglected shed despite the money the previous owner spent. Rear bumper being a different colour and one front wheel only held on with four bolts (!) being early highlights. Also missing the front undertray apparently which would have been removed to do the engine work and if they forgot to put that back what else did they forget ? It's big. You would definitely notice it sitting around the workshop.

I don't recommend watching the video. It's really bad.

You could well be right, it's been so long since I last saw one I can't remember. I can't recall the colours I've seen either, or even if they were all black and the same spec.

Ah - a quick search shows non to both points,

A head gasket is probably not *too* bad. As long as it really is *just* a head gasket.

Loving the California ^^^ btw.

Reminds me I really ought to fix my Compact, leaky exhaust gasket prevented MOT and I managed to shear off a couple of studs when I tried to remove it. It’s now a head off, or engine out, job to drill them out and I’ve been putting it off for… err a few years now.
