Seems to suggest it has a 4 year warranty?

What’s it doing? Google suggests a couple of issues might be an electrician needed

1. Blinking Red Lights (Hardware or Installation Faults)One Blink: Ground fault. Have an electrician check for proper earth grounding. Two Blinks: High temperature at the terminal block. Power down the unit and check if the terminals are properly torqued (often loosened by heat).Four Blinks: Internet/Wi-Fi connection issue. Ensure your local network is online and that you haven't recently changed your Wi-Fi password without updating the charger.Six Blinks: Communication error. Unplug the cable, wait a few seconds, and plug it firmly back into the vehicle port.

No lights at all.

Good point re warranty, I had in my head it was only 2 years.
Unfortunately I still need a spark to come out and test the electrical supply to the wall box before I can claim on that.

Replaced my dented osf wing today. Got bumped back in Jan and managed to find a decent 2nd hand wing with minimal rust. Spent some time treating it, and today was an opportune moment to get it swapped.

Found some rust.

Cleaning time

Image

Was happy to see pristine looking sill underneath the sill cover. That joy didn't last long though. When I was cleaning everything up I started clearing out the crap built up in the edge of the undertrays (that the sill covers sit above). The "chassis rails" for want of a better term, are crusty as hell. I think they're still.solid enough, but they're going to need brushing back and treating this year I reckon, before it gets to the point where new metal needs putting in.

Anyway, blasted as much crap out as I could, and put it all back together with the new old wing.

Just needs a good clean now.

I had some moaning rear brakes on the van and a look showed some big lips on the edges of the discs (i only had an MOT last month and no mention).

i ordered some new brembo discs from euro carparts (i already had some pads) for £75 each and got a nice 30% discount (so i ordered some £115 front discs too). £260 for 4 discs delivered the next day.

Pretty easy job really, i have a piston winder set so i could do the rears which need turning and pushing because they have the handbrake on them. The only tricky bit was undoing the caliper bolts - but a bit of leverage using the van weight got them undone.

294mm discs but look tiny in the 20 inch wheels! 😂

Swapped discs and pads on the Up last weekend. TBH I've always put off messing with brakes incase I got it all wrong, but far easier than I anticipated, and I've not died yet.

£110 for OEM Brembo stuff (off eBay in the end, cheaper than AutoDoc). Crazy how cheap considering some of the prices for monster stuff on the modern performance saloons.

Zoe dropped with the EV mechanic this morning. He's just rung me to tell me the second-hand compressor he bought is full of dirt and he's sending it back. Whether that then leaves us having to buy a new from Renault (£1,300+) or we can find a better one remains to be seen.

I've had mixed experiences with autodoc. Exceptional range of parts, but usually quite slow to arrive.

By far my fave is Carparts in Motion via ebay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/carpartsinmotion

If you wait until the end of the month they invariably have a 15% or 20% promo code which makes them pretty much unbeatable.

911 passed this years MOT with flying colours (which means no advisories right?).

Apparently it is the big 12 year service this year plus now I have a drive I also need to have the various bits of paint fixed from 3 years of people damaging it whilst street parked. Unfortunately it needs front and rear bumpers doing, then there are scratches on the NSF wing, a cracked side repeater and a big curving scratch on the drivers door - think this is going to be expensive :(

Oh and the warranty is up for renewal this month...

Have Autodoc stopped doing the thing where they send your part but it’s from a much cheaper/inferior brand to what you ordered, then it takes weeks for them to get in touch, they argue the toss that it’s the same part number as what you ordered so they expect you to pay the postage to Germany to return the product that they sent incorrectly. Anyway my bank refunded me and I still have their shitty Ridex discs in lieu of ATE

Apparently this is still done and you need to get in touch and tell them you do not want substitute parts

I would have posted this as an update to my Evora "new car" thread, but - as that's not on this forum - the fleet update will need to do.

Accepting this is no biggy to many on the forum, I’ve now owned the Evora for <subdued drum roll> 10 years. It has therefore become my first ever DECADER. Is that even a word? Pixies song? :geek:

I'm the second owner – got it just after it’s 2nd birthday with just under 10k miles on the clock. Now approaching 48k miles.

I've never tended to flip cars quickly, but I’ve never held on to any other vehicle for anything like this length of time. I’m not really sure if that is testament to the Evora’s many virtues, or a reflection of the fact that - whilst there are many other cars out there which carry appeal - there are few alternative options that tick all of my boxes? Probably an element of both.

I celebrated with some new (genuine Lotus) floor mats to lift the interior a little. Not exactly cheap for two little bits of carpet, but not outstandingly stoopid at £120). <blows party trumpet thing>

The Up passed it's MOT - apparently flying colours, but in reality, it's colours are soiled due to a minor for rear bushes.

That's who I got the pads from. They didn't have the discs though (got those from JamJarCar Parts)

Still find it interesting to see owners of 400/410's go back to S1's.....or saying in some way they preferred them. Faster/Harder isn't always better, it seems.

Yeah - @RobYob probably has some insights on that.

Later 4xx cars didn't receive as warm a response from the motoring press either. A bit faster and a bit more focussed, but losing some of the delicacy of the S1's.

Very cool - 911 has just hit 3 this month and RR will be 5 years in my ownership in December year.

I had the 997 about 5 years as well so that's probably the record so far. I don't think many other cars I've had have exceeded 3, so 10 years is really some good going in my opinion!

Marv is the king of long term ownership isn't he?

I owned my last MX5 for a month or so shy of 7 years, and I've had my Jimny for just over 6 though that would be on borrowed time if I had the time to get it MOTed. Nothing else has gone past 3 years in my care as far as I remember. So 10 years is impressive and I can see why it would be hard to replace.

I've had the Yeti since Oct 2014 (so 11 1/2 and a bit years) but I expect Marv can beat that, yeah.

Is that 5 years since you had your last RR stolen then?

Doesn’t seem that long ago tbh.

I wouldn’t have said Mik has had his Evora for 10 years either though 😅
