Porsche's numbers in Q1 were not pretty but under new CEO Michael Leiters they look like they are starting to make the right decisions to get the business turned around.

Porsche Q1 2026 Results: Beginning of the Long Hard Road Back
Re: Porsche Q1 2026 Results: Beginning of the Long Hard Road Back
I'd already read this via your mail shot, but very interesting.
Do you think these issues will have any impact on their sales strategy for the GT cars? (ie the need to qualify to purchase one).
Also found your GMA piece insightful. I didn't even know the business had (quietly?) changed hands.

On the GT cars, I do think its going to become easier as they will increase volumes, at least in the near term, to help plus the profit hole.mik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 8:59 am I'd already read this via your mail shot, but very interesting.

Same here. The one thing that occurred to me is that Gordon is nearly 80. While I can't imagine him slowing down until he has to, could this have been a long term plan to establish a brand using his name and credibility to ride out the setup costs before the buyout to Halo, who seem very much team Gordon.mik wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 8:59 am

They’ve also ditched the ebike motor company they bought back in 2022 Fazua. Presumably they were midway through trying to make everything in their range electric …. before they realised that people don’t want everything in their range to be electric…

I doubt Gordon would have planned to give up control.Jimmy Choo wrote: Mon May 11, 2026 4:48 pmSame here. The one thing that occurred to me is that Gordon is nearly 80.
