Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Another variation on that theme is we could meet at Caffeine & Machine at Ampthill, grab a coffee and then make our way up towards Kimbolton and the B660 and onwards north for lunch.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
That sounds quite a sensible idea - it's the one C&M I've not been to as well so ticks a box there. Feels a bit weird for an Evo meet to involve C&M; they seem like different worldsduncs500 wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:00 am Another variation on that theme is we could meet at Caffeine & Machine at Ampthill, grab a coffee and then make our way up towards Kimbolton and the B660 and onwards north for lunch.

I dunno, C&M is a pretty broad church. My view on it is that it's one of few places where gatherings of car enthusiasts are welcome, and therefore can only be a good thing. Plus the coffee and food is half decent usually.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
I'm certainly not saying avoid it
Do you know a good way to get round Bedford to the B660 or should we just aim to meet early in the morning and go through the middle of town?

Sounds good too
How about we chuck some dates out? End of this month, like 25/26th April? Or further out into mid-May, avoiding bank holidays say 16/17?

16/17 of May works for me

I'll be in Scotland 16/17 May I'm afraid. Could potentially do 25/26 April but otherwise my earliest free weekend is 23/24 May.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
25 April should work for me. I am in the US for business 16/17 May unfortunately.
23/24 May also likely works.

Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
I'm good with 23/24th May too - although does the bank holiday mess it up for anyone? I'd imagine the Sunday 24th morning would be fairly quiet out on the roads before lunch.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Sunday 24th could be quite a good day since it's in the middle of the bank holiday weekend - often a bit quieter than a normal Sunday.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Plus the later we get into the year the likelihood of warmer weather should increase... (I've jinxed it now clearly).

Agreed, by late May it's 5am sunrise and a strong chance of some lovely weather too.
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
I'll be back at work then so will do the B660 as Billy No Mates

There’s a (sold out) Bicester Scramble on 26th April, so could be interesting vehicle spots nearby.. not sure how friendly Oxfordshire is to cars though! I’d be up for something that weekend
Cheers,

I think you go A421 and turn off for Renhold, skirt across that way to the B660.Jobbo wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 9:10 am I'm certainly not saying avoid itDo you know a good way to get round Bedford to the B660 or should we just aim to meet early in the morning and go through the middle of town?

Can't do 25/26th April, 23/24th May is ok for me.

Either the May or April dates are good for me.

Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Bump. Sounded like May 23/24 was the consensus?
Re: Daan Saaf OV9 Meet
Shall we say Sunday 24 May, on the basis that it's the middle of the bank holiday weekend so the traffic might be slightly lighter?
