Re: Artemis
Read about the Apollo missions my whole life, as I'm sure we all have on here. Feels slightly unreal that I'm going to experience a moon mission 'live'. I find phrases like 'trans lunar injection burn' really quite affecting tbh, truly amazing stuff.

Watching “The Dish” tonight in a form of tribute to Lunar Exploration
Re: Artemis
Just tell Trump there's unsupervised 13 year old girls there, he'll fund dozens of missions for it.IanF wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2026 5:40 pm https://www.youtube.com/live/m3kR2KK8TE ... BK8_UUVEnb
Hopefully we can send DT there to be King of the Moon
I've got the livestream running in the background, hopefully goes off without a hitch.
Re: Artemis
Yes doesn’t seem real watching this live.

What an incredible thing to see
Re: Artemis
Looks like the NASA animations are also running on shuttle era computers
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Artemis
Watching us head to the moon for the first time is really something.
Re: Artemis
The are CAF though
That post reminded me of my confusion that Americans invariably default to lbs for weight though. Even accepting that the US have no desire to go metric - why not use the imperial (short) ton? Why say this setup is "18 million pounds", rather than "9000 tons"? (8164 tonnes). Is it just a metric that John Q Citizen is unfamiliar with?

Re: Artemis
I don't get why watching America burn 2.4 million litres of liquid hydrogen to colonise the moon is so cool

Adding a bit of extra humidity to the floridian air
