Mik, I think the difference in top speed must be exaggerated - I don't think the wing can possibly alter the Cd that much. I agree with your maths.
i don’t think the front wing ever looked good (though the Cannon ball run sequence was as close as it came) - but the rear wing is always awesome.

Rich is all kinds of correct with this one. Think about it - it's an 80's poster car, adorned to the wall and admired by everything from small boys to grown men alike. It absolutely needs the theatre of a stupid big rear wing, and let's not talk about the folly of comparing top speeds when we live here in the overly surveilled UK, and not in AutoTopNLs garage 52 weeks a year.

Wings are cool, and the countach is not a sports car, it's just an objet d'art

If you're going to have a pointless wing, why not have two? At least there's a visual suggestion of aero balance front to rear (even if neither does anything).

The front wing at the base of the windscreen on the Maserati Shamal and later De Tomaso Panteras is another one which should be stupid but is in fact incredibly cool. You can't justify something on the basis of poster car excess without more excess being obviously better.

As per my previous post. Because the rear wing looks cool.

It's not, it looks cooler in Cannonball Run guise, and nicer without any wings.

Wasn’t the front wing a workaround to bypass US bumper regulations so technically not pointless! :D

The fact that only 3 people Vs 12 think the CBR spec is the ultimate compared to the big rear wing only is one of the many reasons you’re wrong.

Three years ago. Opinions change. And the total number of votes for bespoilered versions v. sans wing is pretty close, particularly if you consider I voted for Cannonball Run spec at the time for cool factor and now I'd go wingless QV as my favourite, being a swing of 2.

So, your opinion is not correct. HTH.

I’m gonna change my opinion on the overall best looking Countach to the original. I can’t help but think the one with all the arch bolt ons, skirts and wings isn’t aging nearly as gracefully now.
Although with the Harry’s garage Countach it should retain the wing and looks better for it as it has the rest of the stuff to go with it.

My overruling view still remains though - non round wheel arches look shite and thus I could never own a Countach :P
How about not having a sig at all?

There’s a point where the additions stop being cool - that point is the 25th anniversary edition.

He has a Countach he is comfortable taking a drill to.

This means he can flip flop back and forth between right and wrong.

A wing is correct and to not have one puts you in the flimsy flamsy not getting the point of a 70s supercar Dacia Sandero loving group of wronguns.

I haven't watched the video in question, but do we know how his Countach left the factory? Was it winged or wingless?

I disagree, the black Countach in Cannonball is incredibly cool, and possibly the most perfect rendition of a Countach, once you remove the front spoiler

The stance on that

No Countach left the factory with a wing. Dealer fit parachute.

Imagine how comparatively shit the acceleration from 100mph is with an extra 28% aero drag to contend with.

If you’re removing the front spoiler, I’d still rather have the same stance with the 5.2 litre engine and another 80+ bhp thanks!
