The House Projects Thread
Re: The House Projects Thread
Seems incredible that at the point you have a warrant for possession it is still subject to further challenge. Very depressing but as you say hopefully the end is in sight.

Currently waiting at the court. There’s actually two applications, we’re listed for a second hearing later this month, and we’re aiming for them to both be dismissed without merit today. Fingers crossed
If we achieve that then we might go for a civil restraining order too.

And we won on both counts, application 1: dismissed without merit, application 2: dismissed
Re: The House Projects Thread
Great news! Hopefully that draws a line under things.

That must be such a relief
Re: The House Projects Thread
Fantastic news. Do you have to wait for June?
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

It is a big relief, it's hard to describe how heavy the stress of impending court hearings seems to hang, it clouds everying, so it's a massive relief to come out with a very clear and decisive conclusion.
The judge did confrim that the June eviction will go ahead. Although frustratingly, the neighbours still could put in a nonsense emergency application to the courts, which could possibly get heard and delay things yet again. It's hard to know what grounds they would go for, however there is a chance they'll put something in regardless.
Also have the question of whether I should even stay living here as this comes to a close. A few people have commented on the real possibility of them retaliating in some form if it does go to eviction.

That’s fantastic news Gav!
Where are things at now in terms of them being out of the place? I thought I recalled seeing you manage to get in there and see the state of the place and get it cleared - is that not the case?

Re: The House Projects Thread
They cleared some of it, but there's still a huge amount of junk in there, it's worse than you can possibly imagine
I'll post some more photos one day.
Eviction is late June, and that could get delayed 3 months if they put in an emergency court application. Also, if the eviction itself is problematic, it could be rescheduled to ensure the police are present. Once they're physically out of the building, they will undoubtedly leave a lot of their possessions there, which I will need to safely store for them to collect. Due to the volume of stuff they have, it will be easiest to simply seal up the property and leave it for a month, giving them a window to return and collect. After that period, I can dispose of everything they haven't collected and get someone in to start renovation and repairs.
The soonest they'll be out, and the property cleared is late July, the worst case is late 2026/early 2027.

It’s giving council estate underground car park vibes
There’s a lot of potential there, I reckon with some good ideas and a decent budget you could turn it into something really cool.

Tell me you’re a single male without telling me you’re a single male!
I especially like the one chair in a room..
It’s funny how men and women have different priorities when looking for a house..

I quite like the concept - yes, this one isn’t particularly attractive but there’s nothing to stop the rest of the house being nice too.
i’d love a big/huge garage space - it could be a garage, a workshop, a gym, etc.. and with it being part of the house, you wouldn’t have to do that whole “but it’s too cold to go out so i can’t be bothered” when you want to go and enjoy whatever hobby it is.
