Merlin is a beauty - what a little bundle of joy.

I have been getting Facebook memories pop up this month because in June 2020 we got three kittens (one sadly no longer with us, but the other two very much are) and in 2021 had our first litter of kittens born at home. Our youngest kittens are now 3 so who knows whether we might have more soon?

My stepdaughter moved house last week; she and her partner moved in together. They each had a kitten from the same litter last year, Boo and Binx, who have visited each other during the year and now live together. So they got a new ginger kitten, Crumpet, who seems to be settling in just fine:

I used to have a ginger cat from a kitten like that as well. RIP Freddie. Stop pulling at my heartstrings, evo forummers! :(

I love that fact that the cat is purring like an idling chainsaw at the opportunity to be a cheeky prick.

Truly, the purest of domestic feline joy on show here

I like the way the cat wins in the end.

Anyone who has owned a cat knows that's invariably how things will end.

Oh, is this considered new?

I've been befriending neighbours and friends cats for years by doing the eyes thing, among others ; ie offer a loose first for them to sniff, not fingers - less large and potentially pokey than an open hand, and easier for them to scent mark with their face.

Pretty sure I read it in a cat behaviour book in the High School library and that book was probably from the 80s

When I’m working in people’s houses, cats that don’t normally like people come up to smell me and then run their scent glands allover my legs. I’m convinced it’s because they smell my dogs and are arsehole enough to send me home to my dogs smelling of cat so they’re just giving my dogs the middle finger from afar

These three, our youngest kittens, are 4 years old today. How time flies.
