Funball Rally

Post by scotta »

Ive done a thing.

Signed up for the Funball Rally. My mate is part of the team that runs the event. He's been at me for a few years todo it but previously I didn't fancy doing it in the Elise. Now that ive got the Alpine however it's a different proposition. Ive been putting off booking cos it's quite expensive to do it £2800. However with loosing dad a few weeks ago it sort of refocused what was important and I needed something to look forward to so fuck it.

It's 4 days covering a load of the alps with hotels and dinner already arranged.

Looking forward to it.

Nice 8-) It's only money, YOLO and all that - kinda trips you'll always look back on. £2800 each? Or for both of you? If the latter, I'd say that was pretty good given what looks to be included. Obviously fuel on top, but still....

£2800 per car. Plus fuel obvs and other day foods. Plus I’ll probably go to maranello on the last day.

Be careful about going to Maranello. An old customer went there on holiday and came home having bought a 575GTB (back when they were new).

Route looks good and I agree £1400 a head seems pretty good value. Possible future option.

That looks like great fun and reasonably priced too, can't wait to hear about. Definitely on the list for the future.
Cheers,

Mike.

Ive done a thing in Rally prep.

"Latest Alpine project. Alpine basically backed the wrong horse when they launched the A110 and went with a Bosch phone mirroring software called mySPIN. This was so crap that apple has delisted the app from their store. CarPlay can be retrofitted but it’s an expensive and involved process. Ahead of our trip to the @funballrally later in the year I wanted a better map solution. So this is a carpuride carplay screen on a custom made 3D printed bracket. The concept was created by one of the guys on the Alpine forum and printed by @cc3dprintsbiz. Looks decent and works well. The print is in a mock up material atm once done in the harder material I’ll do some better cable management for the power supply."

Sounds like good fun 8-)
I like the sound of the toboggan ride :D
The only fly in the ointment I can see is the bit from yours to the Chunnel :(
You've got me looking at carpuride...
