Mobile screen lagging.

Post by Zonda_ »

I've had my S23 Ultra since they came out and the screen is starting to slow. Often when you use 2 fingers to zoom in nothing happens for the first couple of attempts. Can anything be done or is it time for a new phone?

That sounds very odd. Do you have a screen protector on it?

No idea, but how much of a pain is it to back everything up and do a factory reset on the handset?

This.

My old iPhone SE2 is doing the same regularly, generally after doing something too quickly for it and it feels like it engages in a memory drain and slowly glides towards inaction. Reboot and it's good to go.

I was forced to update my 13mini at Christmas to be able to download an app to use something I was bought. Instant lag and making the phone feel like crap.

Not as bad now, but wish there was a way on older phones to just be able to have the new security updates and bug fixes without all the extra bollocks.
Cheers, Harry

It gets turned off at least once a week, this has been happening for a while.

Try a factory reset (as Mik suggested )

Failing that get a price for a screen replacement.

If you cba with that, get a new phone

I take it you’ve done a search to see if it’s a known problem?

It's not a know issue that I can see. It's around £200 for a new screen, a lot to spend it it doesn't cure it! I'll see what the S26 launch brings next week. If nothing new as predicted I'll probably get a OnePlus 15
