Dave!
You don’t consider ethics at all? in any investments?!

If someone came to you with a solid investment plan in a company you knew used sweatshops using child slaves (A few kids die here and there, but great returns!) you’d be ok with that?
Thinking about it I refuse to buy British American Tobacco but it's the only one I can remember just saying no to despite it being a good bet for long term stability.

Dave!
Well i’m glad you have some standards.

That’s how i feel about proof of work crypto - it’s disgusting to promote such a pointless waste of resource.

Tell us about what your pensions invested in. You probably have no idea but like to think you're whiter than white.

Thats a fair comment, but I still make a point of not actively choosing to support it.

I still hope it fails too - regardless of if that affects me.

You can actively choose your investments. You choose not to. Not liking crypto is fine, tobacco, rolls royce or war shares too. But you have to realise the folk managing your money put it where's good for you. Funds have been very good to me recently, I have no idea what companies are in them.

I’m not sure he would want me to post this but Broccers is a nice guy who doesn’t need to justify his investment choices to me or any of us.

That’s a good point - I don’t know exactly what is in mine but I have a feeling Nvidia is, and they feel like the bubble which has caused all funds (along with the world’s largest economy) to be doing OK. Fingers crossed for our ‘safe’ investments too.

It all depends on how you are investing and when you are hoping to get the benefits from them.

If it could all be good dividend percentages and low prices for the next ten years without a huge rise in the next two, that would be awesome.

Also with the disgusting tax on investments and shares as it is, it's a benefit for the prices to stay low if you are at the active investment stage.

In conclusion, it's a tricky game and I hope everyone has some luck!

Don’t really understand this. I’d prefer my portfolio account value to double in a year and pay the tax on it rather than have it do nothing/go down. That’s still money I wouldn’t have otherwise had.
Hear so many people moaning about making large profits and how they’re going to have a huge tax liability. Then fucking don’t invest

You get taxed on your dividends, so if you want to increase your share amount without hugely affecting your tax bill then the lower the better in many ways.

Also, when they have big highs it's not always sustainable. People see a fixed point at say £10 a share, £100 a share etc and then the price dips as thousands of people have an auto sell.

I'm in it for the dividend income, not share amount.

Dave!
