LS400 also sound great with a decent exhaust and are even more incongruous.Matty wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 1:48 pm Lexus SC430.... Always wonder if these were as bad as they said. The one I saw clearly had a modified exhaust and sounded fantastic.

They actually look better than I remember. Not saying I'd buy one, mind, too many better choices, despite my Lexii bias.
Certainly looked smaller than the big SUV boats that surrounded it. 1800 wide, so same as a modern Golf, but fairly long car at 4.5mintegrale_evo wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 9:08 pm Not sure I’d class the sc as a small convertible, they always looked like a big Yank targeting boat, more like 5 series / e class size.
Guess it depends on what you'd call small these days given the monsters on the roads.

McLaren 750s
No pics as the owner came back but therefore, got to hear it start up and pull away.
No doubt it’s an amazing machine and every inch of it is function over form,
But by Christ it’s an ugly thing.

What do you think it stands for?
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Spotted in fuel station, a black Deranged with reg. BO55 OWN
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Woodland neighbour has bought an Octa. My favourite SUV and I think way better than a wanky Urus or G63.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
I hadn’t ever thought about it, just like I’ve never wondered what LS, GS or IS stood for.
I definitely wouldn’t have ever imagined the S meant small.
A small convertible for me is an slk, z3, mx5 etc

Nor me - now I’ve googled it, the official Lexus names look utter bollocks like they’ve reverse engineered themintegrale_evo wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 10:30 pm I hadn’t ever thought about it, just like I’ve never wondered what LS, GS or IS stood for.
SC might as well be Soarer Coupe since the original was just a rebadged Toyota Soarer.

As I said, the names are bollocks - it’s not sporting and it’s not a coupe.
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Might want to get the tracking looked at after that

UK post boxes are hard as fucking nails.

True dat...
I watched a Blitz documentary and by all accounts, nearly all survived the war. Some were blown 100 yards away, still attached to a chunk of the pavement but most were cleaned up and re-installed.

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
You didn't say anything about the SC model line starting life as a rebadged Toyota Soarer and you didn't post a link to Lexus's official explanation pages for their model names

Someone crashed into the one on my mams road a few years ago. If they’re hit directly at speed you quickly find out how brittle cast iron actually is
