That's a great idea though. Make it unique, then auction it for mucho dollars. He's got form profiteering with modified Jags now hasn't he :D

I don't think the F-Type is going to get the Harry cachet just from being manual swapped. But I do think Mito is right that he'll sell it after doing it :lol:

It seems to be a bit of a trend with CSL owners who go for a manual conversion, that they end up flogging it shortly after :lol:

Interesting post by Harry on IG.

Essentially, reporting that he's created a demand for Lavante's resulting in a number sold recently. Apparently "I emailed @auto100uk to find out and they replied saying the four Trofeo they had in stock were all sold in the week following the release of my Trofeo video and every buyer mentioned my video was the reason they had got in touch"

Not sure on the mentaility here from the other buyers, or is it just they weren't aware they exisited?

I think not being aware they existed would be part of it, but also Harry is - no matter whether he wants to be - an influencer now. People trust him so it makes the purchase seem safe/sensible.

I look forward to a load of new Maserati owners moaning online in 2026.

I think the P7's current wheels _shape_ looks good but I think it would look mega in a bronze with that green.
Anything is possible but there is a moderate risk that it will wind up with a heavy and unwieldy gearbox... or cost mega bucks.

Fundamentally Harry is more of a tinkerer than a collector. He likes to play with them and try different stuff. I don't think that necessarily means he doesn't like the 650.

£210k though. And does Harry need a new camera? As either image stabilisation has failed, or the ride on the Touring is pretty awful :lol: Made the camera footage taken inside the cabin almost unwatchable to me.

That lightweight pack is utterly unnecessary so you’d save £30k not going for that. But it’s still a £170k car with a couple of options.

What Harry’s video showed me was that I would definitely be better off with a Carrera S. The engine of the GT3 is lovely but the rest of the car isn’t quite as everyday useable as I’d want.

Do the venty bits in the frunk, and presumably there’s ducting under them, steal any of the luggage space, or are they in an area that’s normally unused?

That's a good question Harry. The 992 GT3 RS has a carbon bonnet and venty bits and loses the front boot completely so I suspect it does take some space. But it doesn't look like it - here's a normal 992.2 front boot courtesy of Autocar:

This jumped out at me as utterly ludicrous.... 22kg saving for £30k :shock:

I couldn't immediately locate details on the breakdown of that 22kg - it appears that around 6kg (total) is from the switch to magnesium wheels (?) - which is unsprung mass, and therefore more desirable of course, but you'd save considerably more unsprung mass going for the ceramic brakes.

The fact the magnesium wheels are the same design as the S/T also makes it look like a wannabe. The normal wheels are forged and slightly more attractive IMO.

Anyway, since it seems you can get up to £20k discount on a Carrera S (mainly on options), the price differential is enormous. And Joe Achilles' video from this weekend has had me speccing one again:

I finally got to drive one on local roads. The weather and temperature wasn't great so I wasn't pushing on, but the ride and how it handles poor A&B roads has improved over the .1, but not as massively as some of the early reviews made me think. Again, it is track focused and then dialled back a little bit, but there's definitely a reason Porsche has press days for these in Europe.

@Jobbo I've passed on the build slot I had and am looking at other options, I think the normal Carrera S might be the sweet spot when it comes to handling, everyday practicality, fun and something you can use reasonably on our roads. Get a nice comfortable spec and you'll be laughing at a fraction of the cost of their other models.

I haven't pushed for a built slot because I don't have the spare funds to buy a GT3 right now. If I could get one, drive it for a few weeks and sell it for a profit it wouldn't be a bad mistake to have made but I'm fairly confident it wouldn't suit me long term.

Carrera S over Dakar though, Mike?

I won't lie, the list price of the new one, even without the lightweight gubbins is pretty eye watering. I was looking at the new Turbo S, but that's the same sort of money.

No, I'd have another Dakar in a heartbeat. Far more useable day to day and lots more fun at lower speeds thanks to the suspension and tyres. I would get rid of the roll-cage, see about a mod for a back seat parcel shelf type thing and probably also go for comfort seats.
