Not massively enjoying my job but it's a tough market so will keep my head down for now. Just the 11 years until retirement

Sadly I did wonder about you reading about all the Sky culls.

Re: Redundancy
Taking time out worked well for me first time round. Time to go on a big trip?

But, today I've accepted an offer for a role that I'm very excited about. Initially it is a one year contract, however there has been several mentions of them wanting to make it permanent. Not counting my chickens yet, but it is a start.
Like all but one job I've had it came about through interacting with actual humans, not through the 50+ applications, endlessly fighting the automated processes and canned responses, but a chance encounter at an industry networking event.
Eight interviews from fairly junior to two C-levels convinced them I was right for the role.
Bring on the first day!
Fantastic work!
How long has it been? I started looking seriously about April ish this year - started work beginning of November
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Still going through the screening process, as per standard, the company that's doing it is useless. Endless requests for information I've already provided, and to use another service that just needs to connect to my bank/HMRC to verify information. I've provided the former, and declined the latter.
Congrats on your new role.

Confirmed start date on Monday. Five weeks to go through basic screening with three of those weeks lost to them (outsourced provider) requesting information I had already provided, and then working around another service they use because I will not give them access to my bank records or HMRC account for "verification" purposes.
