McLaren didnt expect the whole field to pit on a lap 7 safety car, maybe I could become an arm chair strategist for them as I saw it. They can pay me a small fee and a company car.

Yep. If only a handful of others had stayed out and held Max up it could have been quite different.

If anything though, previous safety cars seem to show if you’re not sure, split the strategies.

If it had been a lap earlier it wouldn’t have worked with the 25 lap rule. Always seems to be mclaren coming off worse in these situations though.

To be fair, it may well have looked different if there was another safety car, but agree that at least 1 car should have come in.

and Lindblad stepping up from F2, making Antonelli and Bearman look middle-aged.

Hopefully with Horner gone, this will last more than a handful of races.

Am I completely imagining things or did the Abu Dhabi doo qualifying always start before sunset, with Q3 being in total darkness? And Q2 mostly being shots of the massive sun setting.

Max for the win then, as the two McLarens take each other out at some point in the race?

Yep, Oscar an Lando to take each other out, max to take the win.

At least Yuki starts too far back to realistically be able to skittleball them without it being very obvious 😄

Max to do the obvious chop over on Norris, Oscar to full send it around the outside.

Should be an easy drive home for Norris to finish on the podium but Mclaren seem to do things in the hardest way possible. Don't think Max will try anything stupid, he has to win the race.

Watched the Ch4 quali highlights.

In interviews, Max and Laurent looked completely relaxed. Lando and Zack looked pretty nervous!

Hopefully it will be a great final race

It seems to me like the best scenario for McLaren is for Lando to let Oscar past at the start and Lando can hold station in 3rd. Oscar needs to win, so give him the whole race to attack Max with basically nothing to lose. If Oscar gets Max then they will be guarding against a Lando breakdown, Oscar has nothing to lose which is an advantage fighting Max, and Lando wins if he keeps it on the track.

I don’t know what it is but I just can’t get behind either McLaren driver, Piastri whines like a child and Lando always looks likes he’s about to burst into tears. Though it pains me to say it as I despise Red Bull but I’d actually like to see Max win his 4th title…

I would rather either McLaren driver won, as it would be nice to have another WC on the grid. I get teh impression that Lando was told some time ago, not to come across as conceited, and so is far too down on himself. He does seem to have lessened that as this season has progressed.

Max is phenomenal, but his "I would have tied the WDC up ages ago in papaya" is just nonsense, he has not has anyone in his team taking wins and points from him. That is not on him, but the two interteam situations are not comparable.

I must admit, I though Oscar would walk it, around mid season as he just was faultless. I watched him jobbie on everyone in his junior career and when he was in front, and Lando was wobbling, I just thought he wwould blitz it, so fair play to Red BUll, Max and Lando for making the last races exciting.

If a driver has a race winning car, and the driver is doing their bit, but the team are fucking things up, then TADTS.
