Those yokos are fine for everyday road use unless it snows.
Had them on the Subaru for the last year and they were fantastic in the dry and still k in the wet.

The weight loss is only about 45kg I think but makes a noticeable WHP increase and the car is not struggling for traction with “only” 320bhp
Right. Decision made?

I can confirm Pilot Sport 4Ss are good in torrential rain and through standing water. Went to take the girl to Junior Parkrun in the pissing rain only to find another event had taken over the park. So we just had a drive round Basingstoke ring road instead.

Front tyres on the Polo were getting a bit low. Then last week I hit a pothole which punctured a hole straight through the sidewall of one of the Bridgestone S001s. In fact it punctured through the tread too so I could poke my finger straight through the hole. As it's a lease ATS have the contract to supply tyres but only fit Michelins. Local ATS garage wanted to just replace the 1 tyre which seemed beyond ridiculous to me so I phoned the next nearest one up. He said that they shouldn't replace them until they hit 2mm, but then also said he'd replace both. So he ordered me in 2 PS4s and fitted them last thursday. They are so much better it's ridiculous.

I now need to work out how to kill the rear ones to get those swapped too. I have a trackday booked for Rockingham next month. And I'd obviously definitely no way whatsoever in a million years at all take a lease car on track.

Had the M140i waxed today. It looks great!! £30 for wash, dry, rain-x, wheel clean and wax and car waxed in 2.5hrs. He's done a cracking job.

Feck me he charged only £30 for 2.5 hours labour plus materials? Shame he’s not local, could do my cars!
How about not having a sig at all?

...yet I don't rate them. i found the were worse than 'normal' tyres in the wet with no real pay off in terms of dry performance. They're marginally better than most high-performance non-R tyres but nowhere near as good as a proper track tyre. Even with a light car like the Lotus they overheated and melted in no time. I don't see a use for them whilst so many better options are out there.

I guess they're cheap.

I presume 21st Oct? I was just looking at that yesterday and am waiting to see if I can have the weekend off.

Wasn’t planning for any track day this year but as I have never been to Rockingham, it’s now or never.

Hangabout I'm losing tgrack of months. It's not Oct., it's Nov, 17th in fact.

If you want on there's a discount code on Northloop and I think about 40 of us booked on together. It's the last ever trackday there. Always good days with those guys, good driving standards and a good mix of interesting cars. There's a meal the night before and mostg are booked into the Hilton. Shout if you want more info!

In other news I went with a friend to collect his 340i Touring last week. If it was my money i'd hjave been pretty pissed off with the way Sytners treated us when we turned up. We had to stand around for abnout 20 mins before anyone even offered us a coffee and it was nearly 40 mins before the salesman actually came out to meet us, shake hands and even begin to think about showing us the car.

The car's pleasant although very understated. It's the shadow edition or whatever run-out nomenclature they've given it. Plus he ordered it in Mineral Grey with black leather. He opted to have it debadged and with all the dark trim bits on it including the wheels and even the exhaust tips etc it's quite a Q car.

After collection, we went for a curry with a few mates and the day after he took it straight into a local detailer for a full detail, ceramic coating and PPF. He's now gone on holiday for the week and as he refuses to use his other BMW, an E30 with S50 fitted, for mundane stuff he's had to hire a car for his week away.

Ah I see, cool.

I’ll have a ponder as I was planning to SORN the car from November. Cheers!

How much is that then, with discount? I'd have to get a pass for the Saturday but it'd be nice to do Rockingham again, especially as it's closing.

928 update - all is well, had a good run down to the New Forest and back at the weekend and it still turns heads (mine included). Contemplating a bodywork restoration over the winter plus finally sorting some trim and upholstery issues, but mechanically it's running really nicely. Huzzah!

Interesting. I had a full set of S001s fitted to the Civic for our Scotland weekend, I thought they were half decent to be fair, and coped well in the wet conditions. I'll have to try me a set of these PS4s, sounds like I'm missing out
