Jeez, that is only 40 minutes from me, and I knew heehaw about it. Loved watching Jimmy McCrae when I was a kid.
Not got a clue how one watches WRC nowadays. Online presumably.
Crap parking and dumb spectators doesn't surprise me, but given the deaths a few years back at the Jim Clark, I guess they are just not going to risk hitting cars or spectators.

Either that or by going abroad since there isn't a UK round nowGavin wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 9:24 am Not got a clue how one watches WRC nowadays. Online presumably.
I'm not sure the stage cancellations were due to danger, just spectators blocking the public roads and preventing the competitors actually getting from stage to stage.

This barmy fucker retired with gearbox woes today but clearly provided lots of entertainment up to that point

This is great, the right theme song and presenter even wearing an old top gear jacket

Can someone link the interview with the Volvo driver, Arne at the end of the rally? Can't seem to find it.

This looks quite tiring

Intense
They seem to top out at 106mph and still look to be suffering from traction issues
That screaming BDG hit 9000rpm a few times too

I know I've mentioned it before but I drove a mk1 BDA powered Escort rally car from Chesterfield to Blyton for a day of testing. Horrible thing on the road in traffic with nothing below 4000rpm and an on/off clutch. It made for some noisy getaways and tutting from old ladies driving through the centre of Gainsborough

Not sure I'd ever tire of that noise
Lucky you for having driven one!

Re: Roger Clark Rally tomorrow
I only watched the first 1m30 without sound. Initial thoughts
- I would have crashed in the first few bends many times over.
- At what point will the cod river have a chance to reach for that water bottle?
- How does it get so much grip on that surface?
- I need to watch that with headphones on, on a big screen
Left over crest; tightens.
